Limbaugh takes a shot ...

Well, the voters selected that nut in the 3rd Congressional District and we also have similar fruits and nuts like Pelosi, Conyers, Frank, Kennedy, Dingell, and probably Jesse Jackson and Sharpton to look forward to so the moons must be in alignment. Olbermann would be a good addition to the fruit cake.
Just so I'm clear on this:

When Democrats say that voters made poor decisions in the booth (as Democrats did in 2000) they're called condescending elitists and out of touch.

But when the 3rd (a majority Democrat district) rejects a Republican and, shockingly, elects a Democrat, those voters are morons to elect those nuts.

I just want to make sure I understand this.

Let's see, luffa man, the master of interuption, the amature pharmesist or Oberman........hummmmm........I'll take Oberman.

02RAMS54, there are many qualified and competent Democrats in the 3rd District. It just happens that you boys elected a nut who will, more than anything else, be an embarrassment to the Louisville area. On the other hand, he will be well received in San Francisco.

he will be well received in San Francisco.

49ers fan?

Ironic, isn't it?

How so? I don't care much for O'Reilly either, but it is hard to be more petty than to launch an attack a competitor's punting record as a collegian and attempt to make it a major news story.

People forget that unlike many talk show hosts, Olbermann included, O'Reilly was a respected newsman before becoming a blowhard talk show host. Olbermann was a sarcastic blowhard sports guy and now he is a bitter blowhard talk show host who constantly attacks everybody in his time slot and everybody in his profession who don't tilt to the left.

Olbermann is the perfect match for Rahm Emmanuel, Howard Dean, and the rest of the Democrats' yapping attack dogs. Maybe they will make him Press Secretary if they win the White House in 2008 and will give him the large audience that he believes he so richly deserves.

He just never was as respected as he always thought he was... Peabody anyone?:D

O' Really says he saw combat too. On TV maybe.

You are probably too young to remember O'Reilly when he just reported the news. I am not. You may also be unaware that O'Reilly provided a spirited defense of Dan Rather during the fraudulent documents controversy that ultimately cost Rather his job. Liberals may wish that O'Reilly was a conservative talk show host, but the fact of the matter is that he is a capitalist and would probably swing quite a bit to the left if he were working for CNN or one of the other liberal news networks.

Whew. Okay - I'm better now. If you are comparing Limbaugh to Sean Hannity in terms of courtesy, I will agree.

Talk about setting the bar low.

If I had wanted to set the bar low, then I would have used one of the clowns at Airhead America as a measuring stick. Maybe former Majority Report cohost Janeane Garofalo, for example. I could post some of her comments about black conservative talk show host Larry Elder, but what's the point in triggering the BGP word violation filter or risking suspension just to make a point?

There are far more rude hosts than Sean Hannity on both the left and on the right. I agree with you that Rush is not one of them, but on the scale of rudeness, Hannity barely registers. Michael Savage will cut callers off if he suspects that they are on a cell phone or if he is just in a bad mood - whether they agree with him on an issue or not. Unless he has changed his format, I don't think that Al Franken even takes listeners' calls on his show - a good decision in light of his anger management issues. A good host is a good listener and Franken is neither.

Of the hosts that I have listened to for more than a few hours, I would rank Michael Medved as the most polite host, probably the most intelligent, and the most skilled debater. Medved does not "play a weak schedule" either. He regularly invites some very strong liberal advocates onto his shows. I enjoy real debates of political issues, but I must be in the minority because I can only listen to Medved's replays if I wake up before 5 AM.

An honorable mention for most polite host goes to Laura Ingraham, who also tops my list of favorite female lawyers/authors/talk show hosts/cancer survivors.

Does this mean he's going to stop "carrying the water" for the President?

Bush is the reason the GOP got trounced. Maybe he would realize that if he untied the half of his brain that is behind his back.

You can't put all the blame on Bush. In 1994 the Republicans took control why? Because the Democrats weren't doing their job they had become complacant, now after 12 years of Republican control they themselves became complacant, Americans have spoken and a change maybe for the best only time will tell. One thing you can count on is that if the Democrats keep control for a while they will again become content with themselves and the cycle will continue.

It's all just entertainment, on the right side of the dial as well as the left. I doubt if any radio talker has ever persuaded one listner to change parties unless they were leaning that way anyway. The most fair, ballanced and entertaining is Big Ed Schultz.

There is a reason no one listens to left wing radio. All the do is attack and bash without coming up with any solutions.

If that were true, then Big Ed would have some Big ratings numbers to back up your claim. That is how entertainment value is measured and liberal talk shows lag their conservative counterparts badly in that regard.

The Democrats' win Tuesday is going to be devastating to the liberal talkers who are already struggling. If they aren't viable with Republicans controlling all three branches of the federal government, they just aren't likely to survive a divided government.

All they can do is bash, bash, bash. They have no plan. Their plan was to play "monday morning quarterback", but now they have the ball.

Judging how W. "had the ball" since 9/11 and total control of the playcalling and made such a horrible mess of it, I hardly think we will be in worse shape now that he is being forced to listen in the huddle.
