Yes, there are plenty of powers to schedule (even this year). When was the last time SK scheduled St. X, Trinity, Male, Scott County, Fred Doug or any D1 or GCL team from Cincinnati? That is what the 6A powers do to prepare. That's why they'll never be ready for the "big game".

Scrimmage X every year. They have played Ohio schools before. Last year they scored more points against T than other teams.

Far as SK schedule they need to drop Bryan Station add CovCath. What does the weather look like for Friday night?

I agree. IMO, SK should play Highlands and Cov Cath every year and rotate between 1 of the Louisville or Cincy powers every year. That would do a heck of a lot more to gage where they are each year... If the goal is to win a championship.

Moeller wasn't very good this year they got destroyed in the playoffs.

Mo got beat by an Elder team who’s only loss by more than one score was to Winston Woods who pretty much beat everyone they saw all year. Strange feeling Simon Kenton Season ending this Friday. No shame in getting beat by a better team. Hope SK can at least keep it respectable.

Scheduling is a two-party thing. You (SK) may want to play Male or Trinity but they may not want to play you. Male, St. X, Trinity already have very tough schedules due to district play and other requirements that they may have to fulfill. No one knew Douglass would be this good when the 2017-2018 scheduling cycle took place. Also, Male, Trinity, St. X, Douglass are decent drives to make a couple times per year. That can drain a budget. Scheduling is more than just seeing what's the toughest schedule you can play.

That's just my 2 cents from someone who has been through the process.

Scott County is going to win this one by a minimum of 2 scores.

The Cardinals are averaging fewer than 100 rushing yards allowed per game, and Simon Kenton only wins games when they're successful at moving the ball in the ground.

SK wins when they are healthy and they are.
