November 10, 20187 yr Cats still have a long way to go before March but it is wayyyyyy early. Saw some good signs but they need to get better outside shots and stop giving up easy ones.
November 10, 20187 yr Story of the game was the start. Cats had 11 turnovers in 10 minutes of play. Clean that up and the rest will come along with time. No excuse for the majority of those turnovers though.

They have to find a way to get him the ball in the right positions. He did have 6 rebounds in limited time. He and Travis had foul trouble. Right now Cal is finding the right combos and it shows. These guys haven't learned to play together yet and that will take time and the results will be mixed until they do.
November 10, 20187 yr Author EJ Montgomery looked good, I think, and Nick Richards was very active most of the night. Cats finally showed some semblance of defense about ten minutes in, which was good. The offense still struggles, as evidenced by all the turnovers. The start of this season has gone the exact opposite of what I expected. It's hard to believe this is the same team from the Bahamas.
November 10, 20187 yr The offense just needs to run some basic stuff with the athletes they have. The ole Princeton Offense would be a great for this bunch. Either run out on the break or slow it down and run some sets. Just out of control a lot. Cal will get em straightened out. Go Cats!

November 10, 20187 yr How would this be a "great" win? Just going on most pregame and postgame reports I’ve read about Southern Illinois, they’re not exactly an easy game——in any year. They’re usually an NCAA team in March and never an easy out.
November 10, 20187 yr How would this be a "great" win? SIU is a well-coached, veteran team. Kentucky beat them by double digits in November. That's a good win.
