November 7, 20187 yr I went to watch UK play Michigan St. at Ford field back in 2003 or 2004. We had awesome seats......for a football game. Lower level 40 yard line. Cost $70. Had a great time, but the players were so far away. We all know why they use stadiums and as long as people buy tickets or show up, it’ll be that way.
November 7, 20187 yr Because there should be no legal way to force anyone to go to college for one year. I love seeing those guy in college but if they are LeBron Elite, let them go if they want to. They aren't forced to go to college. Edited November 7, 20187 yr by Jumper_Dad R13
November 7, 20187 yr They aren't forced to go to college. They also aren't allowed to go straight to the NBA.
November 7, 20187 yr They also aren't allowed to go straight to the NBA. So the NBA should be forced to take them?
November 7, 20187 yr So the NBA should be forced to take them? Going back to the question...How would you change college basketball? If I was King of all things basketball they would be eligible for the draft straight out of high school, teams could draft them or not.
November 7, 20187 yr I'd probably reduce the NCAAT field to 32. Could possibly be conviced to cut it to 16. Shot clock to 24 seconds. Adopt the NBA 6 foul rule. Probably go to 4 quarters. Allow players to enter the NBA straight out of HS. Allow players that leave early and don't get drafted in the 1st round the ability to return to school for 1 additional year of eligibility.

This would definitely keep me more engaged with the sport on a day to day basis before March. 4 quarters and 6 fouls should simply be standard across all levels of basketball not just college and NBA. By cutting the field down to 32 though this would eliminate the automatic qualifiers for winning your conference tournament correct? It would be all at large teams right?
November 7, 20187 yr Why would you want to cut down the NCAAT field? Some of the most exciting games of the year are during the first couple rounds because of cinderella teams. A 32 or 16 team field would never have yielded us UMBC over Virginia, or Loyola to the F4.
November 7, 20187 yr If they played 48 minutes in college, 6 fouls would make sense. At 40 minutes, if you can’t keep yourself from fouling 5 times you shouldn’t be in the game anyway...

A 32 or 16 team field would never have yielded us UMBC over Virginia, or Loyola to the F4. The point of the tournament is to crown a champion. There's only maybe 10-12 teams a season that truly have an actual chance to win it. The rest is overkill. It's entertaining overkill, but overkill nonetheless.
November 7, 20187 yr Stop the referees from calling it like an NBA game. I have never seen so many non walking calls in college games in my lifetime. Barrett took literally 7 steps on a drive to the basket last night that started on the wing. Another time a player picked the ball up on breakaway had both hands on it and continued the dribble with no double dribble call. Totally rediculous the way they ignore blatant traveling or double dribble calls in the college game today.
