October 29, 20187 yr Makes me wonder if they want to give Haley a shot at Head Coach prior to starting the search. I've not read anything to say who's taking over in the interim, just a thought. Haley was a more successful head coach than Hue in his previous experiences
October 29, 20187 yr Haley was a more successful head coach than Hue in his previous experiences In all fairness. Hue had zero chance to win the last two years with the Browns. I don't know if any head coach would have won more than 2 games over the last 2 years. This is the first year he did have some talent. Which they were more competitive now, but still didn't truly know how to win.
October 29, 20187 yr I’m with you. In all likelihood any coaching candidate is on a team somewhere right now so it doesn’t give you a head start on anything because they aren’t going to leave a team in the middle of the season. No surprise here. The real question now. Is how long does it take before Hue joins Marvin's staff in some capacity. Does Hue join the staff this year, similar to how Josh McDaniels rejoined the Patriots the same season after being fired as the OC with the Rams mid season? It probably will depend on Hue. If he wants to still coach some football this year. You can almost guarantee Marvin will add him on the staff as a consultant or something this year.

I am fine with Hue in a subordinate role for the Bengals but I am concerned if he comes back aboard he will end up being the head coach in the next few years and I don't like that idea.

I think that is basically a guarantee now that if they ever do part ways with Marvin. That it will be Hue who takes over. Which I agree I don't want that. Not because I don't like Hue, but because they need to get away from any coach who may do similar stuff as Marvin.
October 29, 20187 yr Haley has been canned as well. Sounds like Haley is being fired too. Stephen A Smith is now reporting that Haley has also been fired by the Browns. Twitter wins. :lol2:
October 29, 20187 yr I think this was the right move but we'll see after 4 more games. Will the offense look a little different? I sure hope so. After watching Hard Knocks, I wonder how much influence Hue had on Haley. From things I read yesterday, it almost seemed like the players would've been upset if Haley was the one let go. If so, that tells me everything.
October 29, 20187 yr I'm not happy with the decision being made halfway through the season, but not surprised. It's no coincidence that Hue was fired after a loss to Pittsburgh. I believe this makes the 6th Browns coach in a row to be fired after a loss to the Steelers. I thought maybe Todd Haley would be named interim coach and would go up against his old team this week, but scrap that idea. Not sure now who the interim coach would be. Gregg Williams, but then who runs the offense? I've also heard reports that Baker influenced the decision to be made now.
