October 29, 20187 yr Author Makes absolutely zero sense. He should've been fired before this season, but I agree. No sense in doing it at this point, just let him finish out the season.

October 29, 20187 yr Report I read yesterday was that with him and Todd Haley butting heads, one of them would be gone soon. Sounds like ownership sided with Haley. The Browns would worry the dysfunction between those two would hurt Mayfield’s development and they wanted to protect against that. Edited October 29, 20187 yr by nkuclubbaseball19 Added more
October 29, 20187 yr I’ll reiterate what everyone else has said and say this makes zero sense to do now.

October 29, 20187 yr Haley > Hue. Eh maybe. Honestly I think Hue would help the development of Mayfield more than Haley. That apparently is where the disagreement between the two was at. Haley is doing more traditional stuff with Mayfield. While Hue was now wanting to step in and having Mayfield and the offense go more up tempo, with more quick slants, and rpo stuff. While Haley was not as much for that. Which put the Browns in a place where they had to make a move on one of them. Sadly for Hue he has only won 3 games in 3 years, so was easier to make this move. When in reality, what Hue wanted to do on offense probably would have helped Mayfield more.

October 29, 20187 yr They’ve lost 3 games by field goals. They are 2-5-1. They aren’t terrible, just a bit unlucky. I don’t understand this move at this point in the season.

In all likelihood any coaching candidate is on a team somewhere right now so it doesn’t give you a head start on anything because they aren’t going to leave a team in the middle of the season.
October 29, 20187 yr Haley > Hue. I'm not sure I agree, coming from someone who watched Haley's offense in Pittsburgh.

Makes me wonder if they want to give Haley a shot at Head Coach prior to starting the search. I've not read anything to say who's taking over in the interim, just a thought.
