Ravens 26 Bengals 20

Featured Replies

For starters, I am the farthest thing from a Bengals fan, I am a Browns fan. Also, lofty expectations from fans (super bowl) is a contributing factor to why you guys think they are so good. The Bengals have an above-average offense with a below-average defense, simple as that. Defense wins championships, and the Bengals are no where near that level.

I would fully expect a Browns fan to not be able to recognize a team that has the potential to be a championship team.;)

More from Lance...

The Bengals defense allowed just 19 points on the road today.........and were forced into a short field by a fumbled kick return that let to a TD........yet everyone is hammering the defense?

The offense was 1 of 10 on third down. The offense was 3 of 14 vs TB on third down.

The defense has given up 19 points and 14 points on the road and LOST?

This offense has failed to score more than 20 points in four of their last five games!!!!!

13,13,17,27,20

If this team can't win games the defense allows 14 and 19 on the road, they have MAJOR issues.

"Mediocre Marvin" should be the new team's slogan.

We get the same old coach speak afterwards....

Time to scoreboard watch for the Wildcard....

I'm still not sold on the Ravens...

I'm still not sold on the Ravens...

They will win the North by default. As Pittsburgh proved last year, anything can happen once playoff time starts.

I never said thought they were "good" I said "so good" Yes, that is a difference because good is getting to the playoffs and so good is getting to the superbowl and winning. The Bengals d continues to get torched, McNair put up almost 250 yards in the air and J. Lewis had a work-man like effort on the ground. The Bengals d is not and never was good enough to get to the superbowl, let alone win it.

I hope your not a person that thinks the Colts have a chance to get to the super bowl then, because their defense is as bad as ours if not worse...

:thumb: This defense is not playing great, but they are not playing horrible either. I mean the defense actually kept them in the game by atleast holding the Ravens to field goals on actual drives. The run defense has actually been playing pretty well as of late, and the pass defense has to learn to take advantage again like last year when they have a ball in their hands they have to pick it..

IMO this team is just a little off on both sides of the ball from doing great things still...

Out of the 11 experts on ESPN only 1 picked the Bengals.....Merrel Hodge...He also picked the Cowboys to win the NFC :creepy:

The other 10 picked either the Colts (7 Picks), Panthers (2) or Seahawks (1)

For the 3 people who picked an NFC team winning it, did they say who they had in the AFC playing in the game? Also as GT said, 8 of them had the Bengals in the playoffs, and if your good enough to make it to the playoffs, you must be good enough to be a superbowl caliber team...

I'm still not sold on the Ravens...

Me either! I know the Steelers are not doing good this year, but I think the Steelers might take them both times they play them. So if we can just take care of the Ravens when we play them again, I think we still have a shot for the division...

CJ 4 catches for 32 yards...think its about time to shut his mouth and start playing....

But Johnson was in no mood to celebrate his accomplishment after Cincinnati lost for the fourth time in five games. The Bengals are at .500 for the first time since 2004.

"We, as a team, are not playing well enough to come away with victories. No explaining necessary. No beating around the bush. As a whole, we are not playing well at all," Johnson said.

He was particularly upset about being held to four catches.

"Four? Four? That's substandard. I'm supposed to be the best player and I can't even get the ball," he said. "No excuses, I didn't get the job done."

Earlier in the year he wasn't talking and he was having numbers like this. So I dont see why you think that would get him to, because him being quiet earlier in the year didn't work either...He is just not having his normal year, and their is alot of reasons for that besides just him though....

Here's my take:

-The Bengals can kiss the postseason goodbye, because they aren't winning more than 8 games this season.

-Palmer is scared to death to take a hit and his play is showing it.

-The PI no call at the end wouldn't have made a difference.....Palmer was not leading anyone down the field for a game-winning drive.

-How the Bengals can't be more ready and into a huge divisional match-up is beyond me......I can't believe I'm saying this, but Marvin is doing an awful job. The guy can't get his players up for games, and really just is awful with clock management and late game situations.

This team is falling fast, and unless something unforeseeable happens soon they're looking at a 10 loss season. The only games on the schedule that look winnable at this point are the Oakland, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh games.

Marvin can't control off the feild issues and injuries. What can he do about that. As for clock managment, what exactly didn't you like. The run on first down that one series??

The defense gets hammered and deservedly so. Holding the Ravens and the Bucs is something every other team seems to do each week so that's not exactly supporting evidence.

The D did not lose the game today. They have lost others this season and will continue to be a problem the rest of the year against good and great offenses.

I think it's time to start looking at the forgotten man in this situation...
