November 6, 200619 yr Marvin can't control off the feild issues and injuries. What can he do about that. As for clock managment, what exactly didn't you like. The run on first down that one series?? Not talking about off field issues or injuries....The team comes out flat every single week and it's killing them. Clock management has been awful since the TB game. You don't run the ball 3 straight plays when you're up by less than a score with over 6 minutes left, and you don't do it when your down by more than a score with less than 3 minutes left. That one play killed 20 seconds. Not specifics of just this game, but with the entire year. I'm trying to hold my Palmer rant in, but I have a feeling it's going to come out soon.

That's obviously a bad idea. Teams are feasting on 3rd and any distance, and the Bengals apply as little pressure as anyone in the NFL in those situations. Maybe it's the injuries. Maybe it's the idiots. Maybe it's the scheme. Maybe it's the players. What ever it is, it sucks...

When you're 1-10 on 3rd down, he isn't going to get as many touches. Complete a freaking 3rd down pass and some of those drives end in more touches. November 6, 200619 yr Here's my take: -The Bengals can kiss the postseason goodbye, because they aren't winning more than 8 games this season. -Palmer is scared to death to take a hit and his play is showing it. -The PI no call at the end wouldn't have made a difference.....Palmer was not leading anyone down the field for a game-winning drive. -How the Bengals can't be more ready and into a huge divisional match-up is beyond me......I can't believe I'm saying this, but Marvin is doing an awful job. The guy can't get his players up for games, and really just is awful with clock management and late game situations. This team is falling fast, and unless something unforeseeable happens soon they're looking at a 10 loss season. The only games on the schedule that look winnable at this point are the Oakland, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh games. Heres my take from what you said. You just like me have no clue how the season will play out, so you cant say they WONT win more than 8 games this year, because you never know what can happen. Secondly why wouldn't Palmer be able to lead them down the field for a game winning drive, he led the team back into the game in the second half? Palmer has been taking hits after every pass he throws this year, so cant say he is scared of getting hit. I know on the plays when they are diving at his legs he is not making good throws, but I mean what can you expect. Im not saying Palmer is playing perfect because he has been off to, but its not all just him. He has been getting hit every play this year, and that would make any QB not throw the ball as good. I mean even Peyton Manning wouldn't be throwing the ball as good as he usually does if he was in this offense and getting hit every play like Palmer. This whole offense needs to be blamed for not doing as good as they should. The line has to protect better, Palmer has to get his throws down to his receivers instead of throwing them high. His receivers got to try to make a play on the ball, unlike what Henry did on the last play and what Chad did on the first interception. Chad you could tell probably had in the back of his mind about that hit he took against Cleveland and didn't go up and get it like he use to do on that play. Also you said the players werent up for this game, but it seemed like they were to me, it was just they wasn't executing. The opening kickoff Perry fumbles, then the third offensive play Palmer throws and interception for a td. That has nothing to do with not coming out playing hard, its just them not playing good football, and it played right into the hands of Baltimore because they could just control the ball and the clock all game then...

He overthrows about 5 guys a game, underthrows another 2 or 3, and it's not like there just missing, they are WAY off. The popular arguement is that the line isn't giving him time....However, he has had plenty of time to get balls off to his check-down men and he can't do it. As soon as a defender gets into the pocket he just lets it fly and it's getting worse and worse by the game. Seriously stop acting like you're going to die if you get touched and stay in the dang pocket to make the throws that are there. This is something I never thought I'd say, but it's got to the point where I think he's really hurting us more than he's helping. I say they give him the start next week and if he doesn't turn it around you really have to look at Johnson. I know he's no good, but Palmer hasn't been either and he needs to get everything straightened out, because the Bengals have too much money invested in him to perform this way.

Not saying you do it, but that you have to think about making a change or at least let on that you're thinking about it. Something needs to light a fire under Palmer to step his game up to where it was or the Bengals have no chance.
