Told some fans we were sitting with my prediction was 70-3. I wasn’t far off.

It is what it is and you got what you got when you brought Petrino back! When you ignore the top players in your own state, some of which are in you’re own city less than 10 mins away, many of which would crawl to the Ville and be prepared to run through a brick wall for you and run down and make the all of your recruiting efforts in Ga. and Fl. you get what you get. Don’t get me wrong those two states must be recruited but when he came back and virtually ignored every top player in KY and you took heat for it that you had to create a special Jr. day just for Ky kids your problem is obvious. He got lucky and I do mean lucky in getting Lamar but I’ve said for a couple years I wonder what the team will do once he was gone and I’ve been spot on! Poor recruiting and no development of talent will get you what you got yesterday in losing by 61 points! Hats off to UK and Stoops for figuring “it” out.. Funny how Brohm can get all kinds of kids to come to Purdue of all places and beat the #2 and #16 teams in the country. UL had best be backing up the Brinks truck to West Lafayette...just sayin’.

No. The buyout doesn’t go down if they wait longer.

I’m without Deuce. Have to wait another three years for the buyout to drop and there are some other quality candidates out there.

 

If I thought this even had a CHANCE of getting better and Brohm wasn’t in the cards, then it might be worth it, but recruits are defecting and somehow Petrino’s third defensive coordinator hire was even worse than his second. Genuinely didn’t think that was going to be possible.

You are correct and I’m not inferring that recruiting Ky kids are the answer. However development of depth is an issue regardless of where a player comes from. Again, I thought it was a mistake when they brought him back and they could’ve selected someone better at the time. Would love to see both KY schools to well.

What happened to Louisville football? Two words …. Bobby Petrino. Somehow, U.L. had an A.D. that for whatever reason and even after Petrino lied to them burned them once by after confirming that he wasn't he left them out in the cold …. U.L. turned around and hired him again. That, even after the trouble that he caused one NFL team, other schools by downgrading their reputations along with his own.

In my opinion, the contract was written in the mindset that Petrino would have equal, if not more, success as his first stint here, so Jurich structured the contract so that if someone came calling again, they were going to have to pay a big number to get him. He obviously didn't think about Petrino mailing it in and not being able to get rid of him. If Jurich were still here, I'm pretty confident BP would still be here next season.

Good point...just a shame there was no protection for the school if he went in the tank.

It's always been silly to me that you can't fire a coach "for cause" and the cause being not winning games. Coaches break contracts all the time, a school should be able to fire a guy without paying him if he's not winning football games.
