If he at some point pleads guilty, it will take the DP off of the table.

Pleading guilty means someone can’t get the death penalty?

Why would you plead for a death sentence? Has that ever happened before? If someone pleaded guilty and agreed to a death penalty, I’d have them examined for mental illness on the spot.

No, but to get a quick guilty plea and avoid a trial prosecutors ,will take DP off the table. As Getslow said, no one pleads to take the DP.

The things that happen in our world are just sickening.

Hate crime or mental health issue it doesn't really matter at this point. The less the federal government is involved with his case the better. The ONLY thing federal charges will do is drag out how long this all lasts. Just keep it in state and get this guy out of the spotlight.

Disagree. This guy needs to get charged to the max. He should never see the light of day again.

You can do just that without involving federal charges. He's never seeing the light of day again as a free man, federal charges won't enhance that.
