October 24, 20187 yr So suspend him three games and all is good? Ba-da-boom. He’ll be here all week. Try the veal.
October 24, 20187 yr I just talked to a big Louisville fan and season ticket holder and they said it is all a rumor.

October 24, 20187 yr Now all of these rumors may very well be true, but as I was reading all of this I thought to myself how convenient all of these rumors start a couple days after Brian Brohm's Purdue team has the huge upset over the Buckeyes. I bet all Louisville fans are salivating about the idea of getting him back to Louisville ASAP.

October 24, 20187 yr Author Still nothing solid on any of this. All of the media types that would know around here are keeping pretty quiet, so I'm wondering how much (if any) of the rumors circulating are true. The fact that none of them are even speculating is interesting to me.
October 24, 20187 yr At a human and personal level I hope this is all smoke and rumors with no foundation. The Petrino family has been through a lot (of Bobby's own making) and I would be good if things were as good as presented at the games and on his twitter account. But for most, its hard to know if the outward persona matches reality. Petrino was on a peninsula when he came back. Half the base disagreed with the action. But the ACC entry and a Heisman winner can make for a lot of angst. But this year he is definitely on an island that seems to be eroding out from under him. His backer on the inside is gone and the fans are frustrated. What is best for the school, fanbase and university? Certainly a Petrino exit and Brohm return would be considered ideal. Clearly Brohm is ready - if there was any doubt. If the Purdue AD is not assembling a new package for Brohm (if he did not already have one) then he is derelict as an AD. I said Saturday night that regardless of how Petrino eventually leaves (before all this flared up) and creates an opening for the spot at UofL the price of bringing back Brohm will still be high. Is there a Red Knight donor or donors out there ready to pony up with all the bad feelings overall now? We will have to see.
October 24, 20187 yr I’m not trying to comment on how anyone else should feel about their team, but if this is true and it’s another scandal, I’m just not sure that I personally could continue cheering on the team. I watch sports to escape, and more and more it’s becoming the thing I’m trying to escape from. It’s been a tough few years to be a Louisville fan. I don’t envy you, and I don’t come with jokes.
October 25, 20187 yr I must be the only one hoping UofL doesn't get Brohm. With him at Purdue, I can safely root for him. If he is at UofL I'm going to have to hope he fails. :(

If he is at UofL I'm going to have to hope he fails. :( It’s going to be really interesting how Louisville handles going after Brohm. Clearly he wants the job, but when do you reach out to his people? He isn’t just going to leave Purdue in the middle of the season, but Brohm is going to be one of the top names on lists not just Louisville. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Auburn and USC be looking to fill positions this offseason. I don’t see Brohm as a West Coast guy, but I certainly think Auburn would be enticing.

Those discussions have already started. I'd almost guarantee it. There's probably not much to it yet, but Louisville and Brohm's "people" are not strangers... Now, that doesn't mean he's coming, but they have talked.
October 25, 20187 yr Author Just trying to connect dots. Is this all linked to Kemari Averett? No, I don't think these rumors had anything to do with him. That's a whole other can of worms.

Now, that doesn't mean he's coming, but they have talked. That’s good to hear. You know I’m not exactly a Louisville fan, but I do want to see them be successful as a program simply because it’s great for the state of Kentucky and all of college football. If they miss on Brohm they may struggle for a little longer than they hope. Brohms people and Louisville need to have the contract ready for Brohm to sign as soon as the regular season ends.
