October 22, 20188 yr I fully expected OSU to drop. I didn't think that it would be that far. I was expecting to be around 8 or so. After the way that the Bucks played I am not complaining, have no right to. Now I just want to win out and beat that team up North, then see what that does / where it puts O'SU.
October 22, 20188 yr I’m biased because I think a team with 1/4 of the talent of the rest of the top 25 and a team who literally plays nobody the whole year, should be ranked behind teams who have actually beaten and played people. Ok. Good luck with that one. I don’t hate UCF. I hate that they have convinced themselves they are better than they actually are. Why all the hate for UCF? Other than the close game against Memphis, they have beaten every team on their schedule by 3 TD's or more, which is what any good team would do against their schedule. It's not their fault the "big boys" won't return their phone calls. Last year, they finished with 4 wins against teams in the final top 25 poll...same number as Ohio State finished with. What makes Ohio State better, other than some silly recruiting rankings that obviously didn't mean much against a bad Purdue team? Who has Ohio State played to even make a comment about UCF schedule?? Oregon State: 1-7 Rutgers: 1-7 TCU: 3-4 Tulane: 2-5 Penn State: 5-2 (but lost to the bad Michigan State team that you talked about in the UM-MSU thread) Indiana: 4-4 Minnesota: 3-4 Purdue: 4-3 The two teams Ohio State has played with a winning record, they needed a 4th qtr comeback against one, and got smoked by the other. You bash UCF's conference but they just had three teams in the top 25 before UC got screwed at Temple. UCF, USF, Temple, Houston, and UC would all compete in the Big 10 and in most other years Navy and Memphis would as well. Edited October 22, 20188 yr by Jumper_Dad R2

I’ve explained my reasoning for why I don’t believe UCF should be considered for the playoff ad nauseam.
October 22, 20188 yr You were the one spouting off about how OSU won’t drop far enough in the rankings for losing. You were wrong. They fell more than any #2 team has ever fallen in the rankings. Just chill man. You said an undefeated power 5 team shouldn’t have been ranked in the top 5 and you have the audacity to say I’m biased because I think a team with 1/4 of the talent of the rest of the top 25 and a team who literally plays nobody the whole year, should be ranked behind teams who have actually beaten and played people. Ok. Good luck with that one. I don’t hate UCF. I hate that they have convinced themselves they are better than they actually are. :lol2: They had no choice but to drop them that far, they lost to a team that lost to Northwestern and Eastern Michigan and they didn't just lose, they got destroyed. They should have dropped them farther. You're right, I said OSU shouldn't have been ranked in the top 5 because they shouldn't have been. Not one quality win. Who has OSU beaten? UCF would have given Purdue a better game. Believe me, I'm quite chill, I'm not the one angry because UCF is ranked ahead of my team.

Like I said, you humble us Ohio State fans with you hatred because everyone else loves us. We told you before the game we weren’t sure OSU was going to win the game, then you try to throw the loss in our face like some sort of badge of Notre Dame/SEC/UCF honor. Like we get it, you don’t like OSU. Take your shots while you can. But it’s bad luck to bet against Ohio State. Just saying.

Like you told us you weren’t sure OSU was going to win the game, we told you the Big 10 wasn't that good and OSU hadn't played anyone yet to deserve their ranking. That was proven last night and was explained quite well in post #17. When you make constant comments condemning UCF when all they've done is win and then you complain that they're ranked ahead of OSU, you're the one that's coming across as a hater of all things UCF, you just can't seem to see it.

UCF, USF, Temple, Houston, and UC would all compete in the Big 10 and in most other years Navy and Memphis would as well. USF and Cincy are not top 25 teams. I've watched USF on two separate occasions and they are no where near a top 25 team. Cincy garnered top 25 recognition for beating a lame duck UCLA team. Take a look at the rest of their schedule. UCF is a very good football team; but put that team in any power five conference and they lose at least 3 games solely because of the depth they don't have. Ohio State, Bama, Auburn, Oklahoma, etc. have to go into conference play beat up from battling power five athletes week to week; they're relegated to playing games against quality teams with 2nd and 3rd stringers; while UCF will get to play Temple, Navy, an overrated Cincy team, and a grossly overrated USF team. There are at least 40 to 45 teams that are better than USF and Cincy. Probably every top 8 teams in each power 5 conference. So could UCF beat any team in the top 25? The answer is yes. But there are at least 25 to 30 teams that you can say that for.

Saying you respect OSU is just a backhanded compliment RTS. Of course you respect what OSU is as a program in the history of college football. They are a blue blood in every sense of the word and are inarguably one of the 5 most historic programs in the sport. It’s Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, and USC in whatever order you want to put them. UCF is not able to compete with major Power 5 programs from circumstances they can’t control. It’s not their fault. But when you don’t have money, facilities, or talent you can’t compete with the big boys. Sorry about it. That’s just a fact. Get the AAC a TV deal, build new facilities, and pay better coaches and we can have a conversation about AAC teams down the road for playoff conversations. Also how much more black and white do I have to make it when I say I don’t give a damn about what the Big 10 is outside of Ohio State. I don’t root for anything other than Ohio State and I actively root against any Big 10 team when they play someone OOC with the exception of a Big 10 team (not named Michigan) that plays Alabama. Stop denying your hatred. Hatred is what drives college football success throughout the history of the sport.
October 22, 20188 yr So could UCF beat any team in the top 25 not named Alabama? The answer is yes. Helped you out a little bit. Stop being so humble haha

I don't let it get to me, it's nothing more than a diversion to pass the time. I enjoy college football, yes. It's not my life, so the hatred thing to me isn't what it is to you. Good luck with your Buckeyes the rest of the way.
