Congratulations to Paintsville, solid win. Count me as one who thought Raceland would win.

Congrats to Paintsville on the win / district title. We may see you again in the region final, if the Rams get that far.

Raceland continues to shoot themselves in the foot with motion / offsides penalties. Our offense couldn't get anything going all night. Two sustained drives stopped inside the PHS 20... stopped by the stupid / diciplline penalties mentioned above. The Rams defense played very good again.

I will probably put Russell's ever improving team as the favorite next week in the big rival game / Rail Cities Bowl between these two.

I'm not sure I would go that far. I would just like for Russell to keep it close with a chance at the end.

Every time I think I have a bead on who has the edge in this rivalry, it goes the other way. Paintsville would host a likely playoff rematch, and most people will probably give them the edge if that game comes to pass. So, naturally Raceland will prevail. This series has been one of the best small school rivalries in the state over the past four years. I don't look for that to change any time soon.

Paintsville really starting to click. Question has always been whether they could do it in the postseason, but the Tigers have finished strong.
