October 2, 20188 yr This looks a lot like 2012. A couple of breaks here and some overrated opponents to hype up the Irish. Vandy should have beat this team and Stanford is overrated with a gift from Oregon. Up next is Va Tech; yep the same one that loss to ODU. They are currently ranked in the top 25. Could be wrong but ND is set up pretty for the playoffs. Vandy did almost beat them, and that is because Notre Dame's offense simply wasn't good with Wimbush as the QB. Hence the chance, and why they now do look more like a top 10 team. As for Virginia Tech. I think it's hard for you to down play that game, when you hyped up OSU so much for their win over Penn State. The same Penn State team who barely escaped a D2 team to start this year. Playing at Virginia Tech, with the environment it will bring with Notre Dame coming to town. Is going to be a very tough road environment. However if Notre Dame is truly a playoff team, it's a game I agree they should win by at least 10.
October 2, 20188 yr Yeah you’re going to use UCF as an example? :lol2: Nice try. UCF doesn’t matter when it comes to the playoff. You want to leave out an undefeated team? Be my guest. If they have a 0 in the loss column they deserve to be there regardless of how they got there. Unless their inclusion would prevent a two loss OSU team from getting in, in which case having a 0 in the loss column does not matter. I think that is what you really meant.
October 2, 20188 yr If this were a fight, the ref would've stepped in and called it long ago....:lol2:

Heck, their even unveiling a Frank Beamer statue before the game. Blacksburg should be hyped.
October 2, 20188 yr You also should have read that you need a quality opponent on that second year schedule. UCF has already destroyed one P5 team this year and likely would have another if one of their games didn't get canceled. I know neither of those will count as a quality opponent though, because it further kills your point.
October 2, 20188 yr How so? In a 4 team playoff you are concerned about ND taking up a spot but would be fine with UCF? I'm going by your logic. They're winning, they're undefeated.
October 2, 20188 yr Not exactly... I specifically used Houston as an example of winning a big bowl game and needing to go undefeated with a big win on the schedule. Houston started off that second year with a win over Oklahoma. No you didn't... You made the comment I referenced in response to UCF. The bolded is the problem with college football, right there. Playoff by an opinion poll. The fact that UCF really isn't an option is sad. That's just how it is when you aren't a P5. To get in the discussion as a non P5 is a 2 year process. You need to get to a NY6 bowl and win. Then the next year you need to schedule a big OOC opponent and win then go undefeated. That gets you in the conversation.
October 2, 20188 yr I think that is what you really meant. Read the whole thread. I said Alabama should be in the playoff last year...

October 2, 20188 yr I'm going by your logic. They're winning, they're undefeated. But they’re UCF not Notre Dame.
October 2, 20188 yr No you didn't... You made the comment I referenced in response to UCF. Yeah big OOC opponent, something UCF doesn’t have but Houston did.
October 2, 20188 yr Yeah big OOC opponent, something UCF doesn’t have but Houston did. Who would be big?
