He is 6 ft tall and his 40 time is 4.4 and change not sure of the exact 40 time. He is also just a junior so he has more time to grow. He isn't the 6'6" type that some colleges go crazy over but I've seen him jump over a 6'6" kid and grab a ball. I don't really care one way or another if I convince you of anything. I know what letters he is getting and has been getting since last year as a Sophomore. He also has a 4.0 GPA and works hard at sports. What ever college offers him is going to be getting a good deal.

I wish the kid luck and hope he signs with a major D1A school. If he has a 40 time in the 4.4 range I don't see why he wouldn't be a major D1 recruit.

Colby Hoskins for Hazard is pound for pound one of the best players in the mtns., with great speed , great hands ,knowledge of the game ,he's a shutdown corner , a playmaker on "O" and special teams. He has played for 4 yrs.and has not missed a game due to injury. He has taken on all other teams best players bigger (i.e Danvilles receiver)and smaller,quicker, and stronger and has kept all them in check. I think he is one of the most underated and least publicised players in the mtns.

When it comes to mountain players Shawn Grim from JCHS may be the best out there. He is one outstanding talent. The kid from Rockcastle has to be mentioned as well. I believe the two best players in the mountains are from JCHS and Rock.

How about Brandon Tolliver from KnoX Central he has over 1000 yards in nine games.

If you are talking about running backs I agree, but my opininion Micheal Tackett LB from JC is the best football player I've seen. Grimm is awsome to watch on every play on the offensive side, but if you know football, and you watch Tackett on everyplay, he is equaly impressive. He plays good on special teams also. I have never seen a kid seem to hit you square while going full speed every play. I get just as much (probably more) enjoyment watching JC's defense as I do there offence. That is a strong unit. They may not win the district. They may not win region, or defeat a team from the north, but this defense will keep them in the game with anyone.

When I seen him play I did not think he was 6'0 maybe so? I thought he might have been around a 4.6 or.7 so he is much faster and taller than I thought. I wish him luck.

Joe Roskoph- #31 -Lynn Camp High School- Tailback- 6'8''- 314 lbs. (Just kidding about the size.) He's around 5' 10" and 185 lbs.

While we're all being Homers, I'll throw Ol' Joe into the mix. Led the State in rushing for most of the season, finished second when the smoke cleared. Had 2000+ yards and is one of the hardest working kids we ever had in the program. He's a junior, also and just came off an ACL injury from April at the start of the season. One of the best in the state has to be one of the best in the mountains! Had a lot of people wondering what he could do with Reynolds and Chaffin gone, guess the kid did O.K.

 

I'm going to have to agree with AJG on Cole. He's probably the best receiver I have seen play in the last decade. He's got the speed and size to play D1 ball. (He is bigger than Craig Yeast, and I believe that kid made some noise for a while.) On the same note, Oldtechnique, how fast would the kid have to be to impress you? I've seen him play a number of times and always leave a little more impressed than the last time. He is in afterburner BEFORE he touches the ball, and once he gets it, I don't even know how to describe that speed, so I'll just say that he "makes fast people look not so fast" to quote a movie.

If I was choosing sides, I would certainly pick Greer, but I would have chosen some of the others first.

Yes hes started all year at corner. Him and Shawnta actually switch out some there and Greer also plays some at safety.

I think Dials is a very good player also, but the list could go on and on. This team is talented on both sides of the ball.

Who is the fastest person on your team? And 40 time?

We have always been a fan of Williamsburg's Aaron Root. Has been outstanding at LB the past 2 years, his Jr. year set a school record with 164 tackles, and his Sr. year I heard over 150 thus far. Has a nose for the ball! This year he was moved to FB in Williamsburg's spread offense for blocking purposes and has shown to be a bull of a runner with deceptive moves and speed. Has several long plays (3 over 70 yards that I recall, and several more 40 plus) this year both running and receving. Made one of the most amazing 12 yard runs I've seen against Evarts, was hit in the backfield twice, broke those tackles and seemed that everybody on the D had a shot at him, yet he would not go down. The two point play against Lynn Camp was the most amazing play I have seen a High School kid make. To pick up a fumbled snap, run to one sideline and break a tackle then reverse field and throw a pass to the back corner for the conversion was unbelievable! Stan Lovett, the voice of the Jackets called it the most amazing play he had ever seen. Several NAIA, D2, and D3 schools are recruiting this fine young man!

Aaron Root is a football player...I love the way this kid plays football, he brings it on both sides of the ball....:thumb:

John had 2nd fastest time at the Notre Dame recievers camp and was consistently 4.5, 4.6 and did hit 4.4. Look for him to grow an inch or 2 to be 6'1" to 6'2" coming out of high school. He is quicker than he is really fast. He is sinewy!!!
