FYI... Moeller’s first opponent is ranked #1 in Canada’s non-public school division. They seem to be an institution to try and keep Canadian HS football players in Canada. I would say they definetely aren’t on the level of Trinity, but not chumps either seeing they didn’t get blown out by Moeller.

Anyone care to give an injury update on the Trinity players. I heard their best running back was out for the year. How about the other injured players.

Pretty sure that Trinity has played there before, but Lockland Stadium is not a bad place to watch a game.

 

Definitely a cool stadium. Lockland's Roettger Stadium dates back to the late 1950s and was built as a memorial to veterans of the two world wars. I've always really liked the field stone construction of the stadium entrance. Interesting to me that after Moeller offered to pay for a new replacement scoreboard a few years ago, Lockland schools allowed Moeller to put their school name on the scoreboard without any mention of the Lockland Panthers, who own the field and continue to play their home games as well. Unusual, to say the least.

 

For those going to the game, get there early. There's an enormous parking disparity for the 4000 seat capacity inside the stadium.

Stone Dixon, offensive guard, has offers from Dayton, Oberlin, Rensselaer, Case Western, Carnegie Mellon, Morehead State, and is awaiting offers from Harvard, Cornell, Columbia, and Dartmouth. Genius-smart young man.

 

 

Aside from their talent, one interesting wrinkle is that Moeller changed coaches between 2017 and 2018. John Rodenberg (formerly of Cov Cath notoriety) resigned this past November within a week of the Crusaders 45-0 playoff loss to Colerain, and was almost immediately replaced by '96 Moeller grad Doug Rosfeld. Rosfeld had previously spent a stint as the OL coach at Moeller before moving on to UC in 2015 as the Bearcats' director of player development. Rodenberg had been the coach for 10 seasons. Most expectations are that Rosfeld was more than capable of hitting the ground running with the Moeller team, so there aren't many folks expecting any step back out of the Crusaders.

I'll be pulling for Trinity to beat Moeller (I always root for Kentucky teams over out-of-state competition), but I think this one is going to go Moeller's way. I'd also say it has the potential to be a Crusader win of more than 14 points if Trinity isn't coming in completely healthy.
