Trinity vs. Southern at Marshall Stadium 11/3

Do you think T's season might end this Friday as a result of the shaky ground game? In looking at the last few weeks, injuries etc., this could be an issue for a one running back team.

"Shaky ground game" ? Heck the Rocks had a back go for 225 yards in a mud pit Friday night. They won 38-7 while throwing the ball 5 or 6 times. Doesn't seem too "shaky" to me.

Seldom does it happen bit I agree with the Rock. Phillips has exceeded expectations and let's not forget his back up Jamar Kirksey.

Agreed with both... Tim Phillips managed four rushing touchdowns Friday. The ground game is there.

It was just a question. No harm intended or directed. Glad to here Phillips has recovered and the running game is at full throttle.

Although Trinity will win by 5 TDs or more, the stats posted in the CJ show that Trinity's defense is giving up a lot of yards, especially through the air. Does this concern any of the Trinity faithful? What happens when Trinity faces a quality team that knows how to adjust and convert and then capitalize with points? For example, MBA? What teams down the road will take advantage of Trinity's soft pass defense?

Teams will also look at the number of interceptions this "soft pass defense" has for the season. As for Southern, they will come out early and give the Rocks some fits in the first quarter, but the Rocks will roll to a comfortable lead by half. Good luck Rocks......

Trinity 49 - Southern 7

T will be looking ahead to round three and that fact won't matter in the least.

What about Male?

I meant Male...Sorry, not X.

Trinity wins because they are the better team, 42-7.

Congratulations to Southern on their playoff birth.

Trinity wins by 35.

This, unfortunately for Southern, won't be close. Congrats to Southern for returning to the playoffs.

No offense to Southern which has a game team, but Trinity wins like a big dog.

Trinity 245

Southern -3

Beatty can make it happen....DAAAA ROCKS!

Seriously though, Southern has improved and made great strides this year...hopefully they can continue the success down the road and improve yearly...but the Rocks are on a mission...

Rocks 56

Souther 7

Fern Creek's had two games on the field.

you are correct 2nd round playoffs last year and then reg season @ Trinity this season.

I agree in that is the biggest flaw Trinity has, soft pass defense. They gave up 380yards in the air to Fern Creek, Fern Creek has an exceptional young QB however not much of an o-line, so he got that 380 rolling out of the pocket. Same situation with a similiar QB who has a better supporting cast and coaching Trinity could find themselves in trouble. I think there is one team that could seriously hinder the Rocks bid to the ship and that is Male.. Redman doesn't go to the air as much as he COULD because he doesn't have to, but Gainy's completion rate is like 68% and he has a great o-line and is also mobil. Trinity could find their hands full with the Dawgs. Trinity stands a better chance against X in my opinion. I am excited to see how it pans out tonight and which will meet them next week (sorry Ballard fans didn't mean to totally overlook the fact Trinity has to beat you first, but I am a realist)
