Ryle 16 Dixie 14

Probably miss timing. I've seen that at other places too. I;ve never thought it was intentional.

What's the deal with Dixie's players running through the little piece of paper right in the middle of the singing of the national anthem? I got to stand on the sideline tonight and was very surprised and sad to see that happen. Ryle's players waited respectfully behind their piece of paper and Dixie's kids act like the anthem is not being sung. Shame on them.

As Sting said, it was probably miss timing. The boys jumping up and down and yelling probably never heard what was going on.

Before you condemn Dixie's kids, my son says they honestly did not hear it. The PA at Ryle is not the best.

That's probably true. There are many schools' PA systems that are hard to hear if you're not in the right place in the stadium.

They obviously couldn't hear what was going on. The wind was blowing hard right into the press box. As soon as the kids realized it, they stopped and paid proper respect prior to getting to the sideline.

It was a hard fought game, but there is always next week dixie. For the people who think dixie cant play on mud thats a joke.

I left with about 10 minutes to go in the 4th, and Ryle had the ball. I pull around the stadium, and it's 16-14 Ryle, and Dixie has the ball. I can only assume Dixie got a defensive or special teams TD and recovered an onside kick, because I don't walk that slow.

As for what I saw, Grey had a 60+ yard TD reception. Mosier slipped and he was wide open. Bad snap left it 6-0 Ryle. Dixie then scored on a Moloney run and it was 7-6. At the end of the half, Ryle kicked a field goal to go up 9-7. There was about 31 seconds on the clock when the ball was set and the whistle blew, and there was about 2 seconds left when the ball was snapped. Isn't there a 25 second play clock in high school? In the second half, Murray had probably a 60+ yard TD run, 16-7.

Dixie's QB Bricking went out in the 2nd with a hurt shoulder. I overheard Mr. Bricking talking to someone, and they think it's either jammed or bruised. #14 took over at QB until a bad handoff to Moloney caused a turnover. Then Mosier came in for a few plays. In the 3rd, Mosier was a qb on 3rd down, and #14 was QB on first and third. When I was leaving, it looked like Mosier was in for the final drive. Also, Koski did NOT play in this game as mentioned he might not in the prediction thread. Hopefully he and Bricking will be back next week as Bricking was throwing the ball fairly well.

Koski I think will be back next week . Bricking I heard tonight is out for the rest of the season ! Good game tonight for both teams . Congrats to Ryle on the win ! I've never said anything bad on the Ref's this year ! But these guy's where just flat out BAD tonight !!!! Some calls for both teams where just horrible ! Going in to the playoffs , I really hope they ( Ref's ) pick there game up too ! With the new playoff thing , do the Ref's still switch districts like before ? Or do they stay until the 3rd round and then switch ?

:thumb: I know the one at the far end of the stadium you can hardly hear !:irked:

Did Bricking hurt his right, or left shoulder?

Right shoulder ! Landed on it wrong tonight !

The field wasnt muudy at all...

Can't say enough how impressed I was with the field conditions. Kudos to any and all that were out in the cold and wind working the field to get it into game shape. As for the game, a few thoughts:

First, I'm VERY sure that Dixie wasn't trying to disrespect the national anthem. I know from where I was tonight it was difficult to hear at times, especially when the wind picked up.

Second, I'm not sure how close to the vest this one was played, but it seemed like both teams were trying to "not show a lot". Not that I necessarily blame them.

Third, whatever Coach Sorrell does on defense it works to perfection against our offense. We haven't moved the ball well against Dixie in what feels like an eternity. Aside from a couple of big plays tonight, they did a good job bottling us up(until the last drive).

Finally, congrats to all of the Raiders, but remember, the real season starts now. Everyone is 0-0.............don't forget last year. Make us proud! :flame:

Nice W for the Raiders at home heading in to the playoffs. This is definetly a confidence booster and heading in to next week's re match w/ Dixie should keep the boys focused knowing they will have to come out and play even harder in order to knock the Colonels off twice in as many weeks.

The injury to Bricking is definetly a huge blow though and if he is out for the rest of the season, I don't see the rematch being as close next week.

When I was walking yesterday afternoon there were a lot of people on the field with blowers and they were putting down some red stuff Looked like the old days at Ryle when everybody pulled together Way to Go Guys
