well lets hope Bricking is ok, and plays friday.

Doesn anyone know whether or not he'll be playing? What's the prognosis to his injury? IMO Dixie can't beat Ryle without him.

Red Heat heard he's out for the rest of the season. I heard his dad say he was in a lot of pain last night. It's obvious that Spritzky doesn't trust his JV qb at this time as he split time with Mosier last night. I'd look for Mosier to take over the qb spot next week. Hopefully, a week of practice and studying will help him. Otherwise, I'm with you, it'll be tough without him.

Heard Bricking is out also. Tough break for the team. But Dixie is a team and one man out does not end the season! 16-14 is a close game and that was with the team shook up losing Bricking. My advice.....watch out Ryle. It ain't over yet. GO DIXIE!

From what i saw there was no problem with any of the players keeping their feet.

Ryle has to be a bit concerned with only winning by 2 with Dixie's #1 offensive weapon missing 3/4 of the game.

Ryle had over 350 yards of total offense to less than 200 for Dixie, had one TD called back on the opening drive after picking Bricking, gave away 7 points in the kicking game, and ended the game at the Dixie 1 yard line. It was indeed a strange game that Dixie only lost by two. Ryle did make somesome correctable mistakes that kept the score closer than it should have been. Winning never concerns me and I doubt it concerns Ryle.

For what's it worth I left going into the fourth because it was 16-7 Ryle, and Dixie couldn't do anything. Dixie's RB broke off a long TD sometime during the fourth and up until that point he only had about 30 yards on 10 or 11 carries. Dixie wasn't doing much of anything all night, and Ryle spoiled a couple of scores for themselevs. Ryle played agressive but I think the play calling was pretty laid back for the reason they play again this week.

I'll take Ryle by 14+ next Friday.

As prettyboy3 said, Ryle's offense was very vanilla in the first match up considering they play again this week. I look for Ryle to open things up a little more this week and with Bricking out, Dixie loses their main threat and weapon on O.

Key to the game is whether or not Mosier can learn the offense in a week and be able to execute with no mental mistakes. If not, it's going to be a long night in Union for the Colonels.

The footing was pretty good considering all the rain, but there were guys slipping around. Take for instance the 60+ yard TD pass to Grey. The field was muddy, but really not that bad.

Congrats, Raiders! Sounds like the parents really stepped up...hats off to them for the time they put in too!

I'd agree that being on the winning side of a game shouldn't be a concern, but IMO making mistakes that keep the game so close should be a concern. Next time around, those mistakes may end up losing the game.

I've seen a couple of posts that said Ryle's play calling was pretty vanilla (or to that effect), trying to keep things close to the vest. However, in the article in the Cincinnati Enquirer today, it stated that Gray was moved to WR "to open up the offense and get Murray more carries". I haven't seen a Ryle game this year, but the article made it sound like this was a new lineup. I'm curious if this was indeed a new lineup, and if so, the motivation to reveal this change during the last game of the year instead of the playoff game.

I'm not questioning the lineup change, just had a few questions pop in my head...

1) If Ryle didn't want to reveal too much, why not wait until next week for this new lineup so Dixie isn't expecting it in the playoff game?

2) Or was Ryle maybe trying to mess with the Dixie coaching staff by saying look what we may or may not do next week such that Dixie has to prepare a game plan for that additional lineup?

I saw Ryle do the same a few weeks ago...

I don't think that it was anything new, and I've seen quite a few Raider games this year. I did think that BOTH sides played the game "close to the vest". With Bricking apparently out for Dixie, we might see more of the same from them in matchup #2.
