Ryle 16 Dixie 14

Featured Replies

I've seen a couple of posts that said Ryle's play calling was pretty vanilla (or to that effect), trying to keep things close to the vest. However, in the article in the Cincinnati Enquirer today, it stated that Gray was moved to WR "to open up the offense and get Murray more carries". I haven't seen a Ryle game this year, but the article made it sound like this was a new lineup. I'm curious if this was indeed a new lineup, and if so, the motivation to reveal this change during the last game of the year instead of the playoff game.

I'm not questioning the lineup change, just had a few questions pop in my head...

1) If Ryle didn't want to reveal too much, why not wait until next week for this new lineup so Dixie isn't expecting it in the playoff game?

2) Or was Ryle maybe trying to mess with the Dixie coaching staff by saying look what we may or may not do next week such that Dixie has to prepare a game plan for that additional lineup?

Ryle has used Gray at WR at different times this year. He is the best athlete on the field so they want teams having to key on him at all times. If I'm coach Warner, I'd maybe try to switch some things up and put both Murray and gray out wide and put Luster in the backfield..Luster used to be a QB at Holmes...think HB pass with the option of either Gray or Murray to throw to.

Third, whatever Coach Sorrell does on defense it works to perfection against our offense. We haven't moved the ball well against Dixie in what feels like an eternity. Aside from a couple of big plays tonight, they did a good job bottling us up(until the last drive).

No not so true. Murray had 210 on 32, Gray had 60 on 8, and Schmitz had 20 on 3. 290 yards of rushing isn't what i call bottling up.

Well with all this talk with "what is Ryle going to do next " with the O ? The question for Ryle will be what is Dixie doing with Bricking out ? Moiser is fast with a good arm , could be alittle Birds style of O with Cecil ! Maybe alittle option mixed in with Moloney ? Or maybe the big strong arm fresh in for alittle long ball down the field ? Or is it Bohn with the O tailored for him ? Which will it be ? ....................... :D

All of these options are making my head spin at this late hour. :sssh:

Ryle wins the rematch 21-14.
