SK stats:

Farfsing 12-20 166 yards 1 td and 9 yards rushing 1 td

Sergent 65 yards rushing 1 td

Hammack 38 yards rushing 1 td

Gangwish 3 catches 110 yards 1 td

 

SK will be fine but it may be fair to say that they’re down a bit this year. I love Farfsing and he is one heck of an all around athlete. I’d love to have him on my team. I said that first because I do not want my next comments to take away from him as a player. SK has lit up scoreboards over the last few years because they had superior passing QBs. IMO, Farfsing is a good QB but not cut from the same cloth as Racke, Schearer, etc. He’s an overall athlete but not as true of a passer as his predecessors. SK will need to rely on the ground game more this year and that’s ok. They’ve got 2 gems in Sergent and Hammack and they’ll carry the load until Marksberry finds a way to maximize Farfsing’s skills in his passing scheme.

I'd have to disagree with you there. Meade had a great run in 2013 and 2014 due to a talented class of kids. Other than those two years they haven't been impressive and are usually in the bottom half of 6A.

2008: 5-6

2009: 6-6

2010: 7-5

2011: 4-7

2012: 7-5

2015: 3-9

2016: 2-9

2017: 5-6

 

And they don't exactly play a brutal schedule

 

 

 

True and there's no reason SK's drop should be permanent, especially not if Meade County shows themselves to be a good team this year. But right now we only have history and one game to judge on and honestly, SK struggling in this game doesn't make them look like a top ten team.

Been deep in the playoffs year end and year out. I disagree with strength of schedule look up the strength of schedule . No respect for Meade plus they only dress on average 30 to 40 kids if that. They are always getting no love I remember in 08 Meade was picked to lose against Male and after it was over all crickets. That's how it always Is, some schools dont have the luxury of dressing 80 kids. These boys play both sides of the ball SK probably has starters on each side.. That speaks volumes on the conditioning and coaching on Meade some of you are crazy saying Meade has no business playing SK.... 2001 St.X said the same thing.... "Little" Meade County upset them.

41 officially this year it looks like. But not sure, spring conditioning is brutal but it weeds out alot of kids. I think sadly kids just dont want to play anymore plus in a rural area most of these kids go to work after school instead. I cant explain why exactly but it's just the way it is down here the county is divided into 4 sections it's a large county most kids take activity busses home I'm sure that detours alot of kids as well not being able to get rides after games etc.

#2 and #13 are good football players.

I am not totally up to par on the team this year yet. I have worked alot this year but we have a few really good athletes every year. Played and graduated in 08 one thing I do know for certain Coach Mofeild is one of the best in the business he always does the best with what he has to work with. They always are prepared and fundamentally sound. It isnt lack of coaching that's for sure he continues to amaze me with what he accomplishes with those kids. He not only developes good football players he develops productive men in society. That goes with all the staff they are special Coach Wilson is a heck of a coach too alot of respect for them guys.

At this point SK doesn't have the explosive offense they've had in the past. I'm not going to judge after one week, let's see how it plays out.

According to what the Meade County coaches reported to KHSAA/Riherds they have 53 on the team this year. Last year (2017) they reported 54 pl.jayers and in 2016 they reported 53 players. This is looking at what Riherds shows on the roster. Names are listed of each player to get this count.
