NEW 9th region predictions

Hill won't average 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists.

IMO: he will be around 16-17 points, 5-6 rebounds, and 1-2 assists.

I guess you didnt see how he shredded teams the last 8 games of the season. He is bigger, stronger and better and they will need to lean on him this season. Last I checked... Duran is out.....Edmonson no longer there.... and Rice is volatile at best.....I say go with your bread and butter and get him the ball.

I did see him the last part of last year and a lot of him this spring & summer in AAU. I said it was my opinion and I may end up being wrong.

A good friend of mine did see Austin over the weekend and said he is 6'3". I stated a while back that Hill was not this tall, so I will have mustard with my crow.

You certainly are entitled to your opinion...but with all the disruption in their lineup... if he wasnt already the main guy to score... he certainly will be put to the test early in the season to carry the Bulldogs.

I definitely agree with you that Hill will be the main scorer for Holmes, but not the numbers(post#40) you stated he would average. Again, I could end up being wrong.

Maybe coach Henley gave him the team POY award. :thumb:

I will say this... he will be fun to watch this season and should stand out. I say he averages 25-10-5 .......

25 points maybe, 10 rebounds is a bit of a stretch with Rice back and he certainly wont average 5 assists a game. Austin is a shoot first, shoot second and pass third type of player. No knock on him though. I still think he is the best player in NKY but he likes to shoot. In my opinion he will be around 20 pts 7 reb and 2 ast a game.

When is the last time a player from this region averaged 25/10/5? Who was it? Has anyone from Holmes ever done it?

What did Romes average last year in pts and rebounds?

Good question I doubt it was 25/10. Not to take anything away from him or Beechwood, but Holmes schedule looks pretty tough. If Hill goes for 25/10/5 he should win Mr. Basketball.

I think Jack Jennings from Holmes averaged 25 points and 10 rebounds, but not 5 assists.

25/10 is a rarity in NKY high school basketball so we're on the same page. Austin Hill, as good as I believe he is, will not come near that this year. Too many others to share the ball with. Add in blowout games where he won't play as much and you're done.

Jack might not have had 5 assists in a month!:D

Once the ball went inside it usually wasn't going back out

Once the ball went inside it usually wasn't going back out

Because it usually went directly in the basket.

Amen! Best low post scorer I have ever seen on the high school level. Not too bad a career after high school either.

Yes, I agree. I had the pleasure of fronting Jack in 88' in a District game...we put a big guy behind him and I was in front at 6'2...we held him in check. He only dropped 29 on us that night....we felt good that he was 7 below his avg.

Austin may not avg 10 boards but he will be a special player to watch and the biggest offensive producer in the region. He is a slasher and glides to the hoop. With increased strength... I don't see anyone stopping him.
