I think citing the Nick Saban situation works against you JA. Nick Saban knew of a prior DV incident and hired a guy. When that guy committed another DV incident, Saban fired him.

 

Urban Meyer knew of a prior DV incident involving one of his coaches. He found out that guy committed another DV in 2015 and did nothing except report it.

 

So Saban fired his guy. Meyer didn't. What point are you proving?

Enlight of the OSU/Urban Meyer saga and our society having zero tolerance for DV, proven or not in some cases, should Nick Saban resign for signing Jonathan Taylor in 2015, who plead GUILTY to a DV charge in 2014?

 

He was admitted to Alabama in 2015 and subsequently dismissed 3 months later, after another DV accusation.

He didn't plead guilty until 2016. He had not plead guilty when Alabama signed him in 2015. He had been charged (2014), left school, went to a Juco, signed with Bama, released by Bama then plead guilty...in that order.

He did not have a conviction until 2016, if you are talking about Jonathan Taylor.

I get what your argument is. You are saying Meyer's knowledge of Smith's acts don't matter unless there is a conviction.

 

Others are saying how Meyer handled himself is a problem because he obviously knew about all these incidents.

 

From those positions, the two sides can back and forth from now till doomsday. One has legal support for the argument, the other is arguing for what is right/moral regardless of what happens in the courts.
