Urban Meyer Releases Statement

Featured Replies

The burden of proof in 2015 was that there was none.

Facts are optional when it comes to firing Urban Meyer.

Smith was fired in 2018 but wasn't in 2015. What is different in 2018 than 2015?

You still refusing to answer my questions?

I’m pretty Sure I’ve answered every single hypothetical and rhetorical question you have posed on this topic ad nauseam.

If it’s OSU.. fire them immediately. If it’s another school, avoid the thread.

Yea that’s why the National media and every other news outlet is running this story around the clock. It’s cause they hate OSU and love Saban :lol2:. It’s amazing to me that’s you think they’re the same thing lol

I’ll say again... let’s see if you answer this time. If you were in a leadership position, would you fire fellow employees accused of crimes without proof or evidence?

You’re welcome to take a stance on DV in the Saban thread if you wish.

He’s not just in a leadership position. He’s the frickin boss. He flicked the booger on someone else by “reporting it” so he didn’t have to deal with it. There was obviously a pattern of spousal abuse that his wife had proof of and in no way shape or form do I think Urban’s wife hid from him. But to answer your question, if one of my subordinates had a lengthy history of violence on a woman and I had the authority to fire him, you’re damn right I would.

I’ve made my stance on DV clear. I don’t need to engage in more rhetorical, deflecting discussions with you. You’re obviously ok with Urban being your coach. Good on ya :thumb:. I can’t wait to see what all else comes out.

That’s all I asked. Thank you for answering, you are on record saying you would fire people regardless of proof or evidence, on allegations alone.

It’s not a criminal trial to have grounds to fire someone. The guy covered for him. If that’s who you want running your team, that’s on you :thumb:

I want a guy who does his job. I want a guy who respects his players, his coaches, his family, his university, his peers. I want a guy who stands up for what he believes in. I want a guy who isn’t afraid to admit when he was wrong but has the conviction to stand by his actions. I want a guy who does what he believes is right whether that’s the popular opinion or not. I want a guy leading my program who teaches everyone that you don’t back down from the pressure of the outside world. A guy who molds young men into great men who just happen to be great football players. That man has been, is, and always will be Urban Meyer. Don’t believe me, fine. I don’t expect you to. But at least you’ll never be able to accuse me of not standing up for what I believe in. If this attitude about Urban and about life in general bites me in the butt then so be it. I have confidence in my opinions. Do you?

You made it clear when it applies to subjects that work for OSU.

Yea that’s exactly what I said. I’m on record :lol2: That’s funny. And you’re on record as being ok with wife beating as long as you can get away with it.

That’s incorrect. I believe in due process, proof and evidence. I believe in convictions, not speculations like you. That’s how the legal system works in the US.

Smith was fired in 2018 but wasn't in 2015. What is different in 2018 than 2015?

There was a protective order filed against Smith by Courtney. Basically the police had something on Smith this time.

That’s incorrect. I believe in due process, proof and evidence. I believe in convictions, not speculations like you. That’s how the legal system works in the US.

What proof, due process, etc occured this year but did not occur in 2015?
