Only one Kentucky versus Ohio game...and it ought to be a good game, but they're now completely ignoring any kind of NKY vs. Cincinnati challenges.

Yippey!!! Now I can pay $10 instead of $5 to attend the BW/Lloyd game that has been scheduled for the past 2 years as a regular season game.

If Skyline wants to promote their business and get people in their locations they should give the sponsorship money (and any other perks) involved directly to the teams playing and cut out any middle men.

I would be interested if this shootout could simply be a border battle. Make nearly EVERY game a KY vs. OH vs. IN games. You could still keep the really big drawing games with those outside the SW Ohio, Eastern IN and NKY but the majority I would love to see more intra-state battles. Just think it would be more interesting IMO.

I don't believe that Beechwood is raising the price. I know that last year the Corbin game was part of the event, and ticket prices remained the same.

I think what we are seeing is the "pass through costs" being rolled back so that all the people behind the scenes (corporations, schools, coaches, principals, supers, and whoever else has their hand in this cookie jar) can continue to profit on the down low.

Completely ignorant response. This is not the reason the format changed.

 

Ohio teams consistently beat the teams from KY and IN. The organizers have had to bring in the best teams from the tri-state to try and match up with the marquee names from OH in the event. Even that is usually not enough. They often time reach out beyond the tri-state area for decent competition.

 

That being said, I do not like the way this event has gone. Bigger is not always better and that applies to this event. It was marketed as an opening weekend type event that was special because it was limited. It was an honor to be invited to play because you were a part of something special. Now you get Lloyd vs. Beechwood and Woodward @ Withrow...Zzzzz.....zzzzz.....

I remember when this event started. It was so hyped, and like said before it was a great privilege to be invited. It was strictly at Nippert and strictly for the opening weekend. Now it's all season long? How is Pickerington Central vs a team fro Illinois even considered a Southwest Ohio game? Tom Gamble is looking out for number one. He must be one heck of a salesman.

This is my A#1 problem with this, and it started when games started happening outside of Nippert.

 

What's special when Cov Cath plays Ryle at Ryle...just like they would have any other of the 20 some odd years that they've scheduled one another?

 

This isn't an event. This is primarily Tom Gamble coming to teams and saying, "Hey, can I list your regularly scheduled game as part of my 'showdown'?"

 

What's a "showdown" about that? This takes place over, what, 7 or 8 weekends now? Ridiculous.

 

Why don't they cut the crap and just start having a "Skyline game of the week"?
