Is there a certain restaurant that makes the best hotdog? Or a certain hotdog style?

 

What do you put on the perfect hotdog?

I’ve tried for years but I just can’t enjoy a hot dog... they gross me out. Love sausages on the grill but hot dogs are disgusting IMO

I definitely DEFINITELY love Chicago-style dogs.

Nathans beef hot dog with mustard, onions and relish.

Chili, bun, shredded cheese.

I'll do pretty much any and all of the "linked meats" :lol2:

 

I actually started making homemade sausage a year or two ago. I've made several different kinds at this point, including hotdogs. Hotdogs were a LOT of process for, well, a hotdog.

 

But for what its worth, sometimes it's tough beating an Angus beef Ballpark wiener, cooked on the grill until the skin gets good and dark, then put it on a plain bun with some sweet relish and yellow mustard

I also like Chicago style dogs. But the best dogs I ever had were from a place I worked at just north of Ocean City, MD that is no longer around. The loaded dogs had homemade chili (Texas style) bacon, cheddar cheese, onions, and jalapenos. The dogs they used were the best I've ever had, and were really good just on their own. I've never been able to find anything close to their taste.

The best item on the menu at Dixie: Bun, Hot dog, Pickle slice, Mayo, Mustard, Cheese! I like to throw a mound of hot sauce on it too.

My go-to at Dixie is a 3-way and an alligator.
