Fleming County won the tournament at Greenup County on 7-13. They beat Wheelersburg in the championship game. Pretty good night for a young squad.

Not to detract from Fleming and Greenup's wins, but do either of you know if Wheelersburg brought it's A-team? When I saw who was attending, I figured Salyers and Holden would make some noise.

To be honest, I am not familiar enough with Wheelersburg to know if anyone was missing. I do know they had 3 teams and their 1st team was undefeated until they lost in the championship. Their freshman was suppose to play Fleming's freshman in the championship as well but they didn't play because it was already around 10:30 pm.

I thought Greenup and Raceland looked very good. Fleming was fortunate to beat them. Fleming has a relatively young group this year. They only had 1 senior playing yesterday. Their leading returning receiver was not there.

In closing, let me say that I am not one of those guys that thinks 7 on 7 is ANY indication of what type of success a team will have once the REAL season starts. They are fun for the kids and helps build timing and experience against other teams number 1's but until you have pads on and add in the linemen, it is not real football.

I agree that the 7 on 7’s are nothing to get too worked up about, but that's got to be a great confidence booster for those young kids to go out and compete like that and get a win. Especially considering the caliber of QBs and skill people that the likes of Greenup, Raceland, and Wheelersburg (assuming they brought their A-team) bring to the table.

I think there was a couple at Lindsey Wilson this past week but not sure who was there.

Central Hardin hosting a large 7v7 tomorrow. teams from western and central KY from what I remember seeing.

Louisville Moore beat Campbellsville in the Finals of the Washington County 7 on 7 passing tourney 21-7. Moore has some dandy athletes and a very Nice QB... Cville is fast and skilled... should be a good year for both teams...

Boyle Co won the Central Hardin event. Was also impressed with North Hardin and Davies Co (didn’t see everyone).

 

2a Green County came out of nowhere to earn the #1 seed but fell to North Hardin in the second round.

Daviess County has a heck of a QB and a few good receivers to boot. Look forward to following them this year.

 

How did Boyle County look? Considering they won the event I'm guessing they showed out?
