Michael Mayer has committed to play at the University of Notre Dame.

Congratulations to Michael and the Mayer family for his commitment to such a prestigious academic and football institution, as well as Notre Dame for landing one of the top Tight Ends in the country for the class of 2020.

Imagine what he'll look like in 4-6 seasons.

I know, right? That picture was from several months ago...as a sophomore. I can't say that I ever even laid eyes on a high school sophomore who was that big during my high school days.

I don't know about the other Cov Cath folks, but I know I'm definitely going to be at the Redhawks vs. Irish games while AJ and Michael are playing.

Don't forget, Jack Coldiron and Kam Butler will both be at Miami at that point as well.

Just did a little more homework. Notre Dame is scheduled out through 2020...no Redhawks. Booooo!

The only game Notre Dame has scheduled thus far for 2021 is Wisconsin. Keeping my fingers crossed that Miami sneaks back in there.

As a huge ND fan, I can't wait to see Michael suiting up for the Irish. With ND's reputation as Tight End U, the sky's the limit for this young man. Hopefully, OC Chip Long hangs around South Bend another 5-6 years.

He's huge for a soph but that picture makes him look lean. That training table is going to get worn out.
