Cubs at Reds (6/21 - 6/24)

Featured Replies

Big Sal luck has run out. He gives up 5 two out runs in the fifth. DuVall could have made a catch to get him out of the inning but did not run to the wall before jumping to try to make the catch. Ball was hit hard though.

That was fun! Long 7th innings are great for the beer man!

Get out the brooms. Really hate to see the Cubs lose, NOT!!!!! I really like what we are seeing out of Garrett. Love the attitude he displays on the mound and that is something that has been missing from this team.

Joey FREAKING Votto.!

The dumbest 25 million dollar man ever.

Votto's last 30 days: .492 OBP, 18 runs, 2 HR, 17 RBI

Big time sweep. I’d love to see them make a push to .500 by the end of the year.

His OBP is absurd

The #Reds are 1-16 in games started by Bailey and Finnegan. 30-28 in games started by the current rotation.

Any ball park figure on the amount of Cubs fans that were there for the 4 game series? Man that game today looked 70% blue in the stands

I have no idea on an actual number, but I feel like saying 60% were blue is pretty accurate. I stayed on the 3rd base line most of the time and didn't work a game upstairs, so my opinion might be a little skewed. Sounded like on Saturday they had one of their largest walk up crowds ever.

As much as I love Votto he at times is just an "airhead".

Y'all are crazy. He is what he is and he is THE BEST (currently and historically) at what he does. If you don't like his approach, I understand that, but that's not who he's trying to be. Similarly, if he was trying to be Stanton or Judge and taking this approach, I could understand your frustration.

As a follow up to that same data, what do we make of the fact that Peraza's Z-contact % (contact when swinging at pitches in the strike zone / swings at pitches in the strike zone) is #2 in MLB? Surprised me.

(His O-swing % being very high at 36.6% [#29 in MLB] should not surprise anyone. Javy Baez at 47.1% leads MLB by a mile. Wonder why you'd every throw that cat a strike.)

Maybe currently but I think Ted Williams might have been a bit better historically.

I'm sorry but Joey Votto, (yes as great a hitter as he is and with as great a batting eye as he has), can't be taking pitches 1/2" off the plate with a full count, bases loaded and 2 outs! If you don't think that's a mental thing then I am sorry. Maybe Joey Votto being an airhead is what makes him great at baseball but I think he could be much better if he didn't let the mental part get in his way sometimes, just mho!
