Who is the young man who left Trinity for South Oldham? What were the circumstances of his transfer ?

 

I believe his last name is Thieneman. Spelling could be off. Not sure why he transferred.

There was a Christian Thieneman that played at Trinity, graduated in 2015. Could they be related?

What’s up with Trinity losing all these players to transfer ? Last year DeSales best player was a Former Trinity player. We are losing another player to a basketball factory that could care less about academics. Now i read that another player is at South Oldham.

Neither kid would have played many meaningful minutes at Trinity. Weining - who left for DeSales - was a nice player there but wouldn't have played a ton of minutes last season at Trinity. The Thieneman is ok but not a kid to worry about. Unless you are just wanting to bring attention to it, which seems to be what you get pleasure from.

In regards to one player leaving for a "basketball factory without regards to education"-

YES- they do have a very good basketball team that won the National Championship last season at 35-0

I am sure with Vanderbilt (offer), Stanford and Virginia requesting transcripts, academics are a priority as well as athletics for this highly talented young man- both academically and athletically.

He graduated. Think he’s going the post grad prep route.

Good. I was afraid he’d listened to the wrong people and gone to a prep. Going that route, he still would’ve had to go JUCO. Incredible player.

Thieneman's father is in the Trinity hall of fame as a basketball player. I believe he played college basketball at Virginia. For his son to transfer away from Trinity says alot about the Trinity program. To make it even worse, his son is one of six players who would be Juniors on the Trinity team who have left the team and left the school. I will try to reconstruct the names and share them.

 

Luke Morrison's dad was an outstanding player at Trinity and in college. His name is Lee Morrison. For him to choose to have his son go to South Oldham rather than Trinity also says alot.

Phil Thieneman played at Virginia Tech, not Virginia. He was a heck of a player.

Led them to an NIT title I'm not mistaken around 1973. His son Christian played at Trinity a few years ago and got a scholarship to Marshall I believe.
