Pro tip: Put a flour tortilla flat on your plate and eat a hard shell taco while holding it over the plate. When your done you've got yourself a soft shell taco.

I really don't understand why one needs to choose. Tacos are awesome no matter the shell type.

Hard shell are only good for a taco salad.

If I could only have one it would definitely be soft shell. You won't ever see me turn down a hard shell taco either though. I generally eat six of each.

 

This made me chuckle. I love going to Taco Bell with my father in law. He’s an average guy in every way, height/weight/demeanor – but man he gets serious and can put 6 tacos away every time we go. It cracks me up.

 

And as for me..... hard! (lol)

Growing up we always had Hard shell with freshly shredded cheese and sour cream. If you didn't chew the shell up enough it felt like razor blades in your throat. At some point in high school my mom switched to soft shell. It was a very amazing experience. We obviously had Taco Bell and I'd always go soft shell there. I haven't had Taco Bell in about 12 years. I was an apprentice in my trade and we were working at a nursing home, lets just say I should've put on a pair of depends after lunch. Haven't been back since. I do love Taco Tuesdays at my home and eat until I can't anymore. We use soft shells

Just get your tortilla the size of your hard taco shells. Spread some heated nacho cheese on it or some Chuey's jalapeno dip( Chuys Creamy Jalapeno Dip - copycat recipe) and fold it against the hard taco, voila! You get the crunch and the chewy.
