March 19, 20188 yr I know I read of 8 UMBC alumni out in Vegas all put in $100 each for a total of $800 and placed it on UMBC to win outright and won $16,000 on that one bet.
March 19, 20188 yr Depends on how the money was split, could go either way. Saw where a guy lost $20,000 on VA.
March 19, 20188 yr I wouldn’t have bet a thing on the tournament this year. Based on what’s happening overall so far, I believe it was a good decision.

March 19, 20188 yr That will bust a casino???? Never said it would break a casino. I was just posting a story I saw on the news.
March 19, 20188 yr Depends on how the money was split, could go either way. Saw where a guy lost $20,000 on VA. Agreed. Vegas never loses much no matter who wins games. That's why the line moves. The money coming in moves the line. Vegas doesn't necessarily lose when favorites lose. They make sure they have money on both sides of the bet. And the line is not set based on who they think will win or lose a game. It is set to where they can draw bets on both sides of the line. They are trying to set the line where they think the public feels the line should be as much as who they think wins or loses and by how much.

They set the line, then move the line accordingly to keep the bets flowing. In the grand scheme of things, they rarely ever lose.

March 19, 20188 yr I think I read AZ had the most money on them to win the tournament. And I agree, the odds on the 16 seed to win the moneyline seem terrible.
March 19, 20188 yr If you’ve ever been to Vegas, you can look around and tell they don’t lose often...
March 19, 20188 yr Ran across this about where some of the big money and crazy money bets. I’d copy some but it’s pretty long. A better placed a $20k moneyline bet in a 3 team (VA, Purdue and NC) in the first round to win a net of $800. That’s crazy. 218 NCAA tournament - Biggest March Madness bets across Vegas
