Tough way for Faulkner's high school career to end.

Stephens is the real deal what class is he in ?

I was really hoping to see Trevon Faulkner at Rupp again. But congrats to Southwestern, after Fitzgerald and Butt transferred a couple years ago I didn't expect them to be a contender for awhile.

Here is the final play of the game per Matt Overing’s twitter account.

I don't know if I could feel worse for Trevon....wow

Stephens (and rest of their starting 5) are SRs. Stephens flew under radar with Gover and company last year, but has played great all season.

How about when Faulkner was whistled for his third foul. Weak or legitimate?

On a side note--how many timeouts did Mercer have left? Would you have taken one especially after the 3 they took with about 12 secs left. I would've liked to see a set play for Trevon on the block especially with the smaller guard checking him.

Every time SW drove they got that call and were shooting FT's. Trevon gets called for the foul after he gets hacked. You could look at 10 plus calls like that from this game. Refs don't decide a game but anybody that says they don't effect the outcome and play a part in how a game is decided has a bias or doesn't know basketball. They didn't lose the game for Mercer but played a huge role in the outcome.

The only thing I can see is if they call him for undercutting the SW player after the shot. There is a sound that sounds like it could be a whistle just before and then clearly a whistle afterwards. The players didn't really react to the first sound so it may have been crowd noise...I can't tell.

Anybody have any stats from this game?

Very similar to the PC game imo. SW sells their fouls.. congrats to them. They stuck to a game plan for three consecutive games and it won out.

I guess. if that's the case maybe we need to send our players to acting school instead of working on skills.

Why would Mercer shoot the corner shot anyways. They were lucky to get the rebound back.
