OMG! It looks like the playing field in Louisville 4A is wobbling towards level .

Larry, of course Male will be fresh for the first half, but I just can't envision X spotting them a 21 point lead again and give them the ball on the X 42 yard line to start every drive in the half. Redman has seen that X is capable of throwing the deep ball now. He'll respect that with some changes (not many because he's BR) and that will help open up the running game.

 

My biggest concern is that this is the second HUGE game for X this year, and they've gotten flat beat in the first half (quarter) of both. Glaser needs to get them ready to play from the opening kick. Let's also take into consideration the mental aspect of the game (which is a huge one). X played their hearts out in the second half and came back to almost steal the game. I hate moral victories, but they have to be proud of the effort to do so. Male melted down in the second half. In a rematch, I think if something starts to go wrong for Male, the players will start thinking about the second half of last night's game.

 

Congrats to both teams -- hopefully we'll get to see a rematch.

Does anyone actually think that these two WON'T meet again in round two? I mean besides a few Crimson fans.

How will the rematch play-out ? Did anyone hold anything back on that quagmire last night? It should be a dandy, and I suspect that there will be some new hat added to game 2.

Congratulations to the Dogs, they made some big plays in the first half.I really like the way the Tigers defense adjusted in the second half and Zoeller seemed to get more confident as the game wore on. The field was terrible and I am glad St.X won't have to play on it in the play-offs. As I said before this is not the one you want to win and I think the Tigers will win the rematch.

Male is Male. They've been beating, or at least playing with the likes of T and X for years.

4A has been dominated by the Big 3 for as long as I can remember. Male being one of them, so their victory over any team in the state of Kentucky is not a surprise at all.

 

I don't see any parity on the horizon as it is still Trinity, St.X and Male at the top and then a sizable gap between those schools and everyone else. Just because they're a public school doesn't automatically make it an upset. In fact the majority of people on this site picked the Bulldogs to win.

I think St.X has as good of chance to get through the region. I like the position they are in, but I would rather be in Trinity's position because they just have to sit and await the winner of the rematch.

We had a 3rd down on the X 1 foot line and our left tackle moved and we end ed up with nothing. It could have been 28-0 at the half.

 

 

If you wanna play shoulda coulda woulda. If the X kicker hadnt slipped he would have hit the extra point.

No he didn't...But at haft-time I was wondering what I was going to say on here if things kept going the way they were. Actually for a nine year old he does pretty good, but I don't know many times I told his Momma late in the game "next week and beyond he stays with your Mother". "IF" Bama hits an extra point we had a chance for the NC.

Congrats to Male on the big W. WRT St. X - 1st half was terrible. No offense, no deffense, no emotion..... Sure did not show me that they wanted to play and win that game. Best part of 1st half... Half time..... at least Male could not score during half time..... 2nd half was a different story, some emotion and started to execute on O. D played much better. Fought back into the game but really was weak on tackling and pass rush during the whole game. Kicking game showed its head, as no surprize.... Good come back only to fall to its own difficiencies (kicking game)....

A Rematch - St. X has to do a better job of controlling Beaumont. O has to execute and D has to play with some emotion...... Obviously, kicking game must improve as well. Still not convinced the Tigers can do it.....! We will see. Male's conditioning was a major factor in the third qtr....... They were the ripe for the picking and St. X did not have enough fortitude and emotion to observe it and take advantage of it....... Should be a 4 qtr rematch if it occurs.......
