futurecoach
If the Cats lose to Auburn and to Alabama(beat Tennessee by 28 last night) at home , are they a "bubble" team? If that happens then yes they become a bubble team. However they are not a bubble team at all right now. They lose the next two to make it 5 losses in a row then yes they are. futurecoach
If the Cats lose to Auburn and to Alabama(beat Tennessee by 28 last night) at home , are they a "bubble" team? Currently UK is 20th in the rpi, and 6th in strength of schedule. They are projected to go 3 and 3 to finish the season. Which would make them 20 and 11. Projection would have them 19th rpi and 5th strength of schedule. So quite honestly 3 and 3 definitely will get them in. 2 and 4 probably would still get them in too but definitely would make for some anxious movements possibly on selection Sunday. At the end of the day this was a bad year for Cal to have his youngest team ever. Especially since the conference was better and making their schedule a top 5 toughest schedule in the country. Science Friction
Saw this posted somewhere else on the web : "Players are a reflection of coaching. Can anybody remember a team coached by Bob Huggins jog up and down the court on defense? Bobby Knight? Brad Stevens? Rupp? Wooden? Or any other truly great college coach? This is not a well coached team and for the most part, the players on this team were not particularly well coached in high school either. Quade Green is a selfish 6-foot shooting guard who was recruited as a point guard. He did not recruit himself to UK. "Calipari chose the one-and-done route. It is not fair to blame an almost all freshmen team for still playing like freshmen this late in the season. That is 100 percent on the coach who recruited them, who has had months to mold them into a cohesive team. The parts are all there, they just need a builder to put them together. " Seems like about 1 in 5 fans are getting agitated with Cal.

I honestly can't believe people are trying to have this conversation. Embarrassing for the fanbase.

NKYknowitall
When does the "youngest team ever" defense quit holding H2O ? Apparently never. It has become the norm when making excuses year after year.

Wireman
Why would the young explanation bother anyone? It's a fact. They are the youngest team in college basketball this season and it shows.
MJAlltheWay24
It get used and worn out every year. It is an excuse and nothing more. It can be an excuse to you, but its an explanation to me. Excuse means the type of play is okay and excused. An explaination merely defines it and doesn't make it okay. Don't know why it bothers non-UK fans either way to begin with. They are the youngest team in college basketball this season and it shows. The reason I dislike hearing it is because Cal and UK fans want the best players who then in turn leave early leaving the team young. If Cal and the fans get the players they want, they are going to be young all the time. Can’t have it both ways. If you want the best players (that leave after a year or two), you can’t use the young excuse because young is exactly what you are wanting or asking for in recruiting. I think for most rationale UK fans, saying they are young isn't them making excuses. Its them trying to remind the irrational UK fans that "this team is young, its a process, there will be bumps and we've seen this before. Ride the waves and hope they are playing up to their highest potential come March." In reality, the rational would be better off not even trying lol. Hell, I think thats even how Coach Cal uses it at times. But people get all upset about him making excuses.
