I think the Scott County v. Trinity would be the key game to the whole bracket. Trinity's loss on paper to Madison Central is puzzling but they were without one of their best players, Powell, out and on the road. I would take Trinity in the matchup.

Assuming Trinity can get past Ballard, which is always a tall task, they can win the whole thing. Depth is their achilles heel as demonstrated in the MC loss wihtout Powell. If they stay healthy and stay out of foul trouble, they will be hard to beat!

I love your final 4.

No faith is the 10 region winning their first game...shame on you.

I think the bracket sets up well for a 10th region team to make the final four. I think GRC has the most pieces and depth to make a run in the 10th Region Tournament.

As a big GRC fan I hope you are right.

There are at least 10 teams who have a decent chance to come out of that quarter of the bracket. I don't see any of those teams going all the way, but that should produce 3 highly competitive games on their way to the semi.

11th and 7th play in the first round? So if what everyone says is going to happen, The top two teams in the state play in the quarter finals. Besides fern creek or cov catholic , either team could blast the remainder of the field. Seeding is the only answer.

Did they say when the first round game times would be announced?

I suspect it will be announced by the end of this week.

Seeding is not the answer. Those teams can act like it’s the championship if they feel they’re the two best.

No one was complaining from other regions when the 12th drew the 11th every year.

If those teams are so ahead of everyone else the semi games should be like a quarterfinal.

Here's a look at a way too early bracket projection after the draw today:

(13)S. Laurel v. (14)Knott Co. Central

(11)Scott Co. v. (7) Trinity

(12)Mercer Co. v. (4)Warren Central

(15)Pikeville v. (5)John Hardin

(2)Christian Co. v. (10)George Rogers Clark

(8)Collins) v. (1)McCracken County

(3)Owensboro v. (9)Covington Catholic

(6)Fern Creek v. (16)Ashland

I could see Etown, Larue, and Adair all possible of winning the 5th as well.. Etown and John have split, Adair has beaten John, Larue beat Adair, and John beat Larue.

I see everyone having Clark County winning the 10th. Don’t count out Pendleton County, Scott, and Campbell County who went to GRC and beat them on their court. Do like the draw the 10th region got. Good luck to all teams the next month and hope for no injuries.

Cat, couple things . 1-

Why would you want to make a quarter final like a semi final? 2- trinity and Scott co are the top two teams with no or little arguement. 3- historically speaking , the 12th is not the 7th. I'm sure either would like to play the 12th champ.

Dunbar was on possession away from ending their season two years ago to a 12th region team in the 1st round and ended up winning state. Don't get ahead of yourself there

Ask Lexington Catholic and Ballard how they feel about playing the 12th Region champ in the early rounds.

I think it's pretty safe to assume it will be noon/1:30 then 6:30/8. Been that way as long as I can recall.

Of course, the back end game of the session never starts on the listed time.

Yes that is the times. I meant when they announced when each matchup was played. they didn't do that until late this afternoon.

I admit that there are a few years here and there. But I'm sure you guys agree year in and year out 7&11 much stronger than 12. No dog in the fight.
