I don't think that was the plan. But they did concentrate on the buildings for along time when weather was good...they are in a pickle for next season if they don't get seed down right now! Sod would be better, but it really needs time to take root too, otherwise it will be a mess by mid season...

Just heard today that there is not enough funding for the sod and the decisin has been made to forego this season and plant grass. That puts the Red Colonels back at Turkeyfoot for one more season. Haven't gotten any official confirmation yet, but got that from a pretty reliable source.

of course...coming from a place where we have no fields, I'd take a place like that with no grass.

Drove by this week, they are grading the field. Does not look like they will have it ready for the 07 season at the end of March unless they sod the entire field. Too late to get a fall growth from seed and its hard to grow grass around here in February.

Ridiculous and totally unfair to the young men on the baseball team if their field isn't ready by season's end at the latest. Priorities and deadlines have been completely ignored by the administration

Yeah, my point exactly...it's not fair to the '07 boys that got to watch the football seniors end their careers on a wonderful new field, only to sit and watch a potential new baseball field lie dormant for another year.

I can guarantee you that Max isn't happy about this. He wanted the sod laid prior to them working on the dugouts and such. He wanted that field ready by baseball season, and unfortunately, that won't happen. He especially wanted it done, because Dixie is scheduled to host the Districts this year too.

How much would it cost to sod, not including labor?

it is going to be very good looking field. Cant wait to play on it

Wish they would of had this field ready when i played.
