I was not talking about the playoffs.

I was asking about whom the poster considered the elite teams and I was showing, why I thought the 4 teams ranked ahead of the Buckeyes, should not be considered elite.

They aren't elite...there aren't any elite teams this year I don't think.

I still can’t bring myself to cheer for Michigan lol.

I don't blame you for that....lol

Big 10 has been favored or at least had the higher ranked team in at least 6 or 7 of the bowl games they have played in.

IF OSU had made the playoffs, most of the Big 10 Bowl teams would have faced a higher ranked team. With OSU not making it, it pushed each one down one game and gave them many favorable matchups...and they are taking advantage of it and winning their games.

I didn’t make the argument the handful ahead of them are elite. They did nothing to separate themselves from the others, which is what elite teams do. The rules are set up to take four teams, whether they are far ahead of the curve or not. The totality of their work before Friday night spoke for itself. The performance of Friday night was wonderul, but I don’t think the masses stopped watching thinking “big mistake” on snubbing the Bucks. That will only come if Bama gets dominated (possible).

They’ve taken care of business for sure. No small feat :thumb:

Conference records vs other Power 5 conferences 2017 (up to date with Bowl Games)

@B1Gfootball 14-5

@big12Conference 8-7

@pac12 7-9

@theACC 10-13

@SEC 7-12

Since when did 24-7 become a "curb stomping & Butt kicking"?

Would 38-21 or 45-28 look better to you? They covered an already pretty big spread by 7 points.

How are those scores any different?

Because to some people they “look better”. Winning a game by 3 scores is a butt kicking. Period. If you watched the game you would also know that it wasn’t even that close.

Very nice year.

Has there ever been a player in college football history have more success and set more records than JT Barrett who the team's fans were more glad to see leave than OSU fans are to see JT leave?? And I say that as a fan who is glad JT is going. I appreciate JT for all he has done for the school and his huge heart but I do strongly believe he has held OSU back in a few big games. The defense bailed him out last night IMO.

And the SEC put 2 teams in the playoffs, thus pushing the rest of the qualifying SEC teams up a rung or 2 in bowl games. It’s not as simple as bowl record, no matter how hard some in Buckeye land want to think it is. But when your conference is on the outside looking in, you’ll take the sloppy seconds :lol2:

When Alabama and Georgia both lose tomorrow night you'll rethink this theory...
