Ohio State 24 USC 7

USC shooting themselves in the foot or OSU forcing turnovers? It's all in which shade the glasses were that you were watching the game in. OSU was missing their top 10 draft pick corner, and every single big play OSU gave up was Darnold attacking true freshmen Okudah who wouldn't have even been out there had Ward been there. You can't just throw out the sacks either because that has been the core of the OSU defense the entire year. The sacks are why they are so good.

OSU D played good, but it wasn't the lights out defense like everyone is acting. They gave up a ton of yards, 1st Downs and TOS. Offense was barely acceptable. Going back to the original post that started this, no they did not look like they deserved to be in the playoffs based on that game last night. IMO! :thumb:

I don't think they were top 25 in scoring though. At least they weren't late in the season.

True, they are 35th in scoring at 32.6 ppg and OSU was 7th at 41 ppg.

They gave up 7 points, had 8 sacks, and forced 4 turnovers. What else did they have to do to be deemed impressive? Haha They dominated the game. Had Ward played I'm not sure USC even makes it past midfield more than a couple times.

 If you watched OSU play defense last night and didn't think they could have belonged in the playoff then you weren't watching the same game.

I watched the game last night. I also watched Notre Dame beat down USC worst than osu did in basically every phase. It obviuosly didn't mean that showed Notre Dame belonged.

Osu offense against a not that good USC defense showed osu wouldn't have deserved it. Osu with JT as qb belongs exactly where it belongs as a team on the outside of the top 4.

This one was good game and Win for J.T. Barrett to send his OSU and BIG10 record setting career out on. Yes, fans got frustrated with J.T. at times but I don't think that anyone can question his heart, Barrett played hurt plenty of times throughout his Buckeye career.

As for the game, imo both teams defenses made statements and shut the other down. OSU's defense, D Line was dominating. The imo overrated USC qb must still be seeing Scarlet and Grey uni's / helmets in his sleep. OSU's defense did not allow him to set up once and were in the USC backfield before the Trojan backs were.

The Buckeyes didn't get the end result to this season that was expected / wanted but they did get the BIG10 Championship and a Bowl victory over the PAC12 Champ and of course ....another win over the team up North.

OSU and ND were both roller coasters. OSU was just a little less steep of a decline. OSU would hold every team in the playoff outside of OU under 30 points. With the defensive performance they put out last night they beat every single team in the playoff and especially with Ward out there.

Problem is they wouldn't score 20 on any of them.

Only team in the country to finish in the top 10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency and was 5th in the country in scoring. You may want to rethink your post before you get pulled out to deep water...

Bahahha you osu fans. Especially funny talking about osu defensive performance. Notre Dames defense actually held that exact same usc offense to less yards to osu did. Notre Dame had 5 sacks, not quite 8 but still a lot. Notre Dame ended also forced that same usc offense osu just beat to 3 turnovers. Notre Dames offense ran for 350 yards on that USC defense and the Notre Dame qb threw for more yards against them. Plus beat them as a whole much worst 41 to 14. So maybe all this means it truly does show the Pac 12 was just bad, which is something you were correct on though. Take your osu bias away you do see other things pretty clearly, but when osu is involved you dont.

You saying if osu plays like they did last night they beat all other playoff teams is just funny. You act like osu shut down this amazing team, yet as I just mentioned we already seen a team do that to USC in a much worse fashion.

Dude you may want to rethink who you qb is before you get into that argument about how your offense with JT would do in a playoff game against a top team. Especially when your offense wasn't that great yesterday against a defense who isn't to great.

OSU would roll ND so I'm not sure what leg you are trying to stand on trying to debate the quality of the beatdowns OSU and ND put on USC.

They'd score more than 20 points I can promise you that.

They've proven they couldn't score 20 against Oklahoma who was ranked 50th in scoring defense. Bama, Clemson and Ga are ranked in top 4. You better stay in the shallows.

That can be misleading when you play cupcakes and in a conference that isnt that good either.

I'm standing on solid ground I don't know what you're talking about.
