What do you think may happen with Hue Jackson and the Cleveland Browns after the 2017 season is over? It appears that Jackson got Sashi Brown fired for not providing the players he needed to win. Haslem said that Hue Jackson will remain in Cleveland for the 2018 season. When new GM Ken Dorsey was asked about that he said, "The owner has already spoken." Not exactly a ringing endorsement but more like, "If that's what the boss says." It must be noted that GMs usually like to have their own coach in place.

Another factor outside of any designs that the Brown's ownership and/or front office has in mind is what happens in Cincinnati. If Marvin Lewis is gone as head coach, does Mike Brown make Hue Jackson an offer to come to Cinci as Head Coach? Jackson was asked if he would accept the job there, to which he said, "I want to finish what I started here," or something to that effect. It was a non-answer saying what he is expected to say. Again, there is wiggle room in his answer. We know how badly he wanted to trade for AJ McCarron and how well he worked with Andy Dalton. We also know that Mike Brown and Hue seem to get along well.

So, what do you think will happen with Hue Jackson following the 2017 season? Does he remain in Cleveland at least for 2018, or does he return to Cincinnati as the Head Coach (assuming Marvin steps down), or does Cleveland just fire him and Hue is out of work until another team comes calling.

Thank you.

You want Cleveland's coach? :lol2:

Hue is going to be the coach of the Cleveland Browns in 2018.

Cincinnati offering a trade for Jackson would be the greatest mistake Cincinnati could make - which is why I think there is a real chance it happens.

Why should Bengals fans be excited to get some of the same old recycled coaches? We all know this could easliy happen given Mike Brown's track record. I would think that Cincinnati fans are ready for a total breakaway from the old regime and some new coaching blood with this team. Otherwise we get the same thoughts on player personnel over and over.

Trading for a coach that is 1-29 at his current job would be beyond comical.

I just don't get why Hue Jackson does not get more of the blame for what is going on in Cleveland than he does. 1-29?!?! It is not all his fault but it is partially his fault, especially when they have lost numerous close games. When a team loses ALL of its close games, some, if not a lot of that goes on the coach IMO. Mike Brown is so tone deaf that I could see him hiring him but I have to think the vast majority of Bengal fans would not be happy with Hue being the new head coach.

Yeah, but he should come cheap. That may be too hard for Mike Brown to resist.

In paragraph two you said does Mike Brown make Hue an offer to come to Cincinnati. That simply can't happen. Even if Hue wanted to, he can't just leave and the Bengals can't even negotiate with him without the Browns giving the Bengals permission. So the whole Hue to Cincy has zero chance of happening as long as the Browns still want him. The Bengals can't do anything to change that.

It just comes down to if the Browns still go through with keeping him. If he does get fired, sadly the Bengals would hire him and then the franchise is doomed.

To be fair with the roster the Browns have had the last few years has been horrible. The fact that he is even able to keep the games close and players playing hard is saying something.

With that said I don't want him here because I believe they need a brand new voice and a new whole staff.

No way do I ever want Hue Jackson as the Bengals coach.

All that I meant by paragraph 2 is that the Bengals may make an offer to the Browns to get Hue (it is a possibility). That introduces the dynamic of a third party. I don't think Haslem would object. This would give him an excuse to let Dorsey bring in his own Head Coach. I can see that the Bengals fans may not like it but I think Dalton and the offensive players would. I think Mike Brown would be very comfortable with Jackson. And I think Jackson has a future as a Head Coach in the NFL. I hope we see the beginning of this in 2018 in Cleveland. But if he winds up leaving Cleveland or is sent away, it wouldn't bother me.

I honestly like Hue and think he is a good coach. He won't be here unless the Browns fire him though. Secondly I don't want him here. What this team needs is not a voice they know. They need a whole new staff. Plus Hue coming here also means Dalton stays and I don't want that and that team doesn't need that.
