Covington Catholic 58 Moeller (OH) 53

It is better, to be sure. However, I think the biggest factor is the subtraction of Hendrix. He was a defender at the highest level. Tough to replace.

Hendrix was an ELITE defender but I think Braydon Runion can also be that elite defender that gives top players a fit. I also think that Chris McNeil and Adam Kunkel are much better defenders this year. I think they will only continue to get better.

Cov Cath our rebounded Moeller would love to know when the last time a Moeller team was outrebounded. Just don’t see Coopers fro t line able to compete with Cov Cath.

I could be completely wrong but doesn’t Moeller have the big Texas committ. If so did he do anything? I see Walters name in the box score but nothing about the big kid for Mo. I know he was considered a project with very little playing time at the varsity level but did UK and coach Cal really miss out on anything when he committed to Texas?

He had nine points and six rebounds with a couple very impressive dunks and blocks. His upside is insane and will play in the NBA someday. More skilled than Cauley- Stein at this point in his career.

I did see a highlight of an impressive dunk from a Moeller player. I assumed it was him but I wasn’t sure. Glad to hear he’s performing well. Thanks for filling me in, I hope to make out and see him play before he leaves for Texas.

Interesting. This year's CCH team must be head and shoulders better than last year's team.

Cooper won last year fair and square in a one game meeting, while CCH won the meaningless regular season game. Cooper can do the same this year. CCH has much more depth this year than they had in last years tourney game with Davin and Nowak who were unavailable, when CJ struggled after getting hit early in last years game.

Sounds like CCH has added additional depth and certainly is the favorite. Should be a good game in January.

The biggest dunk last night was from Moeller's Davenport (wright st recruit) he went over Thelan and finished with the flush and foul. Hayes also had a couple strong dunks also. Hayes the Texas recruit is definitely a project and unfinished prospect. His ceiling is very high and who knows how good he will be. He isn't there yet or even close. A redshirt season would seem in his cards. This game was just 2 really good teams and home court won out plus Cov Cath seemed to be more the aggressor. Also the 3 3s by Frederick in final 2 minutes of 3rd took it from a 1 pt game to 10 heading to the 4th. Really changed things. Cov Cath got a little sloppy in last few minutes but they aren't gonna give back to many double digit leads in 4th with their foul shooting from primary ball handlers. This game appeared to be a great atmosphere for high school bball. Caught it on facebook feed late last night but would have loved to seen it in person. These squads right now are a few notches above your typical high school programs. They get the best players from NKY and east side of Cincy and it shows.

High high level game! CJ showed out as did the seniors Aiden Ruthsatz and Jake Walters. I believe Jake is a major diff this year kid looks like a total different player. And anyone who just thinks Fredrick is a jump shooter hasn’t been to a game. He is just in another level this year!

Have we heard this before?

Don’t think so.

Who won the frosh and JV games last night?

Moe won the frosh game, CovCath won the JV game.

Does Coach Ruthsatz have any other younger kids? The reason for my question is would he consider if presented possible college positions when his kids finish high school? Thanks in advance.
