Why would I want to harp on a contest where we fumbled 9 times in losing to a JV squad who had previously only won a couple of games..stuff happens Larry. Could it happen again this weekend...ahh, could be! I'm sure it will be a great game and fans for both teams cannot wait.

From the sound of the current forcast, neither of us should need raingear tomorrow night. As others have already said, may the BEST team be the victor, and may the injuries be ZILCH. Just sit back and enjoy it, and count our blessings that both teams are outstanding enough to deserve all this commotion. :thumb:

I would agree that a JV game MIGHT "WEIGH" a liittle more on the Varsity game than a Freshamn game!!!:flame:

I personally think this will be the telling tale for Mr. Kentucky in Football. Beaumont will be in Vic's face all night on defense. He will get his yards on Offense as well!!!

The reverse may also be true...once again STUFF happens.

One thing that I didnt consider when I was typing my earlier post and I was talking to coach Williams (Male) last night and he told me one thing that concerns him and Redman about going into tonight's game is that neither of the two feel like Male has faced a true "test" this year. The question on their minds is: "we dont know yet if we have just been that good or or the other teams have just played that bad against us...but we will find out".

 

The other thing that Redman is hoping for is that they can keep this game from having to come down to the kicking game. Williams concedes at this point X has the better kicking game. I asked Williams what he felt is their biggest weakness and he said "Bob talked the other night at practice about their ability to play defense when they are spread out. Even though we beat Iroquois 80-6 he felt that Iroquois exposed a huge weakness in that they didnt do too well when they were spread out because of their commitment to the man to man defense with 4-5 receiver sets. Prior to the Iroquois game, every team that we played thought the best way to attack our defense was to put 8, sometimes 9 guys in the box to try to help with blocking. Iroquois took a different approach by spreading us out all over the place and we had a tough time adjusting, and many times we just didnt line up right. Now, the difference between Iroquois and X is that X obviously has better players across the board and that scares him a little bit".

 

And yes, I know i said Iroquois would be loaded and the truth is, they are loaded...but I think its pretty obvious now to see what Iroquois is loaded with: potential talent that didnt know how to win the right games. Sorry to say this is the last time I make a prediction like that when it comes to the Raiders. I stand corrected but we all get burned from time to time.
