GrantNKY Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Baker Mayfield wins the Heisman trophy. 86% of first place votes. Bryce Love finised 2nd Lamar Jackson finished 3rd
GrantNKY Posted December 10, 2017 Author Posted December 10, 2017 Without a doubt the best player in college football.
Wireman Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 He's not better than Lamar Jackson but the stars aligned for him this season.
TheDeuce Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 He's not better than Lamar Jackson but the stars aligned for him this season. This.
GrantNKY Posted December 10, 2017 Author Posted December 10, 2017 He's not better than Lamar Jackson but the stars aligned for him this season. He is a better football player than Lamar Jackson.
Wireman Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 He is a better football player than Lamar Jackson. No he isn't.
Voice of Reason Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 I won't dispute Mayfield should have won. He had an incredible season and his team is in the playoff. Jackson finishing third is an embarrassment to the Heisman voters. A player averaged 411 yards of offense a game and finished third.

His numbers were better this season than last season...when he actually won the award.
GrantNKY Posted December 10, 2017 Author Posted December 10, 2017 No he isn't.Yes he is. With 2 minutes left down 6 there is not one player in the country I want with the ball in his hands besides Baker Mayfield. When his team needs him the most he comes up every single time. Lamar is a stat stuffing machine, but he's Michael Vick. Flashy, electric with the ball in his hands, he does stuff no one else can do. Baker Mayfield is like Russell Wilson, Brett Favre, Drew Brees. Winners above all else. It's not what a piece of paper tells you, it's how you feel watching them play. I'm probably the only OSU fan in the world that likes the guy, but I can't help it. There is just something special about the guy that is unexplainable.

I feel like when Lamar has the ball, he can score from anywhere with either the run or the pass. I’ve never felt that way about any other player before him.
74devil Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 What would "stat machine" Jackson's numbers be if he was playing for OU? Would Mayfield be the guy with 2 minutes left if he was playing for Louisville? I think not. And that's what makes what Jackson has done this year that much more impressive. Mayfield had a very good year but to have Jackson at third? PLEASE! I'm with Wireman and VOR on this one. Over 400 yards from ONE player? And he's the third best?
74devil Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 What you said BBJ, Mayfield ain't taking one to the house from 70 yards out.

Anyone that watched Lamar and didn't think he was a guy who was dangerous the entire game wasn't watching with clear eyes. I'm fine with Mayfield winning but don't lose credibility by diminishing LJ to "stat stuffer."
The Professor Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Which player will make the better NFL quarterback? I’m not knowledgeable enough about football to know that answer, so just asking.
