Northern Ky Preseason Coaches Poll

NCC has 9 dang good basketball players that will cause havoc in the 9th.

Think you meant Covington Catholic

No I didn't at all! I meant NEWCATH! I think you misread the team.

Define “havoc”?

There actions as a team will speak for itself.

Got it.

I've yet to see NewCath with my own two eyes, and while no doubt nowhere near the level of CovCath or Cooper, I fully expect them to put a highly competitive team on the floor.

Anybody recall the last time they didn't?

I don't either.

All said and done they will represent the 36th in the Regional tourney like always, and will end their season with nothing to hang their heads about.

Very much looking forward to seeing one of the most talented and experienced players in the region, Brennan Hall's senior season. I also expect big contributions from seniors Jalen McDaniel, and Stephen Pangallo, as well as a more significant role this season from sophomore guard Caleb Jefferson...and Highlands' transfer Branden Posey....are you kidding me? I also expect surprise breakout players to start making names for themselves.

No matter who the top dog is from year to year I'm always interested in seeing what NewCath has to offer because you can always depend on them to bring it.

So what if they probably won't cut down the 9th region nets this year, still their working class nuts and bolts gutsy play is sure to, like always, please the true basketball enthusiast.

Thanks. And I see now that Posey left? Looking at this season's schedule, a .500 record is definitely reachable (Went 12-17 last season) if the 'birds find some scorers and an effective big man inside.

It will take them a while to get going, their best player Junior 6'4 PF Ben Sisson is recovering from a football injury and probably wont be back until January last I heard. I am hearing the Birds will be playing fast and will put up a lot of shots.

When will Highlands go hire Ben Franzmen ?

Boone Co. will be in the top 10 after the first week. Ethan Haynes will pose a problem for EVERY team in NKY and despite his size Rodgers will be quickest player on the court every night and can fill it up. They have a sleeper in transfer Parker Kyle who is a high energy player who can score that most people don’t know about. I watched these 3 players most of the summer and they will shock most teams that take them for granted provided their coach lets them “go play”.

Call me crazy but I think Scott could be very good. I know they lose Ohmer, but their speed will cause problems for teams. It takes more than 1 players to make it to the state semifinals. Coach Fromeyer can coach!

For what Level? Varsity?

Will the Kramer kid see much action this year? I’ve not seen him mentioned on here.

Walton is Top 20 in the State, but 7th in NKY, bodes well for NKY basketball this year.

Paul Kremer will see plenty of action. NCC will go about 9 deep with 6 of those being true guards . The speed and shot production, along with defensive abilities, from all of them will be a luxury.

Rankings are meaningless. Will soon find out hoe good every team is.

Yes

Your crazy!

I’ve only watched Scott at the Sorrell scrimmage and liked a lot of what I saw and some things that are head scratchers. But it was a preseason scrimmage so will see how things turn out. They have a few older players that are very good but they seemed to try and force some younger players into the lineup and those kids didn’t look ready from a physical standpoint. That might burn Scott this year as it has SK at times in the past I’m not sure Scott is good enough or deep enough to overcome

I don’t see them play alot but will try to get to regular season game early this year to see how they look. Curious how the coaches handle post Jake as well.
