CovCath is dominating but 5A is really down this year.

 

I really don’t believe that it matters how down or up 5A is or may be this year. I really think Cov Cath is that good.

I think that Cov Cath could be the next if the coaches stay as they are.

 

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Boyle County make another strong run too.

If Boyle County pulls it off this year it would be hard to NOT consider them the favorite for the next two years. That sophomore class is loaded!

Beechwood is already a dynasty type of program. CovCath has had a great year this year but will they be able to sustain momentum beyond this season. I do see Highlands getting back to being Highlands but other than those 3, NKY doesn't have a program that can sustain long championship runs.

Bowling Green was very young this year, they’ll be back.

I am waiting for sustained success from NKY 6A schools, it just seems that the larger public schools just don't get the kind of talent numbers as the schools in Louisville.

They never will. Simon Kenton has the imaginative staff, but to match up athletically w/ T, particularly at linebacker is a bridge too far. Additionally, the lines don't seem to be able to compete. You'd think Ryle would with the youth program, but they need to produce QBs w/ better frequency. Obviously they won't all be program changers, but efficient game managers would be a huge benefit to them. That added offensive dimension is a huge need for them.

It's possible for them to be in the same class, but it will be in 2A. There is very little if any chance Beechwood is in 1A in two years. The school has grown and others in 2A have lost enrollment. If New Cath requests to play up and it is granted, then they both would be 2A.

SK has alot of good talented kids coming up from youth football and middle school football.

Watch out for Scott County to drop to 5A for 2-3 years around 2020 and make a title run.

NKY 6a has never won a state championship. They have some good football players but too many kids are cherry picked to other schools. As long as Scott County has no other schools for kids to move around, and as long as St X Louisville and Trinity can get kids from all over, it will be very difficult for NKY 6a schools to get over the hump. I believe Trinity freshman beat Male, St X Louisville and Elder by a combined score of 129-20 this year. Good luck competing with that in the future.
