Beechwood has twice the number of players as Cville. Cville has had a very good run but I'm afraid it comes to an end Friday.

Campbellsville is also home to the last Druthers in the world!

So this game will be played on Campbellsville High School campus for sure? I thought they might of played it at the University on the turf.

I think Campbellsville like a lot of Class A schools has a unique stadium and atmosphere. Have been there in some time, but playing surface has always been nice.

It's a very unique stadium and atmosphere. There is only one side of bleachers as you know (that won't be any change for those coming from Beechwood), but playing in the outfield of the baseball diamond on what usually is a very nice surface.

 

Their pressbox is massive. Their baseball stadium bleachers are very good also; I'd say those might even get some use this Friday? Raised up off the ground on a hill; concrete.

Beechwood is just so well coached, so deep and so talented at every position group, its going to be very difficult for Campbellsville to hang.

 

And while I could talk for hours about the remarkable play of Davis, Castleman, Derry, and Burch, can we just for a moment discuss how incredibly well the Tigers offensive/defensive line is playing? Kudos to Bob Burnett, Coach Rash, Coach Baugh and the rest of the staff for building this group into the buzzsaw they have become.

 

When you're talking about a team with 23 kids, not much size and wins - outside of Russellville/Crittenden County - only against bad teams (Caverna, Bethlehem, Ft. Knox, Green Co, Fulton Co. have a combined record of 12-44, it's VERY difficult to compete with a team like Beechwood. For evidentiary purposes, see the Simon Kenton game.

I am going to put the brakes on this thread for those overlooking Campbellsville. Campbellsville has some very talented players. Their backfield of Cubit, Pettigrew, VanCleave and QB Hash are all playmakers. Sophomore WR Malachi Corley also is dangerous with the ball. QB Hash has a good arm and and is accurate. In the playoffs, Cubit ran for 234 yards versus Russellville who was ranked in the 1A top ten. He ran for 186 yards last week against Crittenden County. Pettigrew also had over 100 yards rushing last week. All of these players have the speed and cutting ability and vision to take the ball all the way any time they touch it.

 

Campbellsville has handily beaten two solid 1A teams the last two weeks in the playoffs - 50-26 over Russellville and 44-8 last week over Crittenden County. Beechwood better be focused Friday night. Campbellsville is very capable of making big plays and scoring points. With all the upsets that happened last week it is clear any team at this point is capable of getting wins, even when they are a big underdog.

Just for the record, The teams on Campbellsville’s non-District Schedule combined record was 51-30... I’m not arguing who had the toughest schedule cause Beechwood plays a crazy schedule.. but, Cville plays a pretty competitive schedule themselves.. so, like I’ve said, we are excited to host Beechwood and look at it as an opportunity to compete against the very best in Class A... see you All on Friday...

Definitely got to respect those athletes especially if they get in space. Campbellsville usually has athletes every year but it seems an injury occurs and derails them. Seems like a little luck has been on there side this season.

This. Exactly. The schedules aren’t even close in terms of strength of opponent. No one - that I’ve seen - is in any way disrespecting the impressive run CVille has had the last three weeks, but there’s really no comparison to be made.
