Boone County's John Mark Shutt was named to the 2nd team defense as a LB. He is a junior.

 

I also want to give a shout-out to Ryle's Jr. OLB, Jackson Saladin, who was named to the 1st team defense.

There are always debatable choices, which I am sure we will see in the posts that follow. I question a couple myself. Rather than debating who should be first team or second, I would be most interested in hearing about players not listed at all that people think should be listed.

I only met the father a couple of times, a real quiet guy. I don't recall his name. Jackson's mother is Beth, she's not so quiet. :lol2: She's a red-head, if that helps you place them.

 

I like the way Jackson plays. He has always been one that the tougher things get, the harder he plays. In BCPWFL, he didn't really start playing until there were tears coming down his cheeks because he was so mad. Jackson has a lengthy body that over time he will be able to pack muscle on. He is athletic and tough. His selection to the 1st team was well-deserved, IMO.

This selection is well deserved. As a soph last season, I swear he had 80 tackles in like 4 games. He had 20 + in the playoff game 1/4's vs Scott Cty in a 1 pt loss that came down to the last play. He is the real deal !! Great season this year as well.

The dominance of CCH over NKY this year is pretty obvious, but this just shows the number of players they have. Glad to see some of their underclassmen get recognized on the 1st team.

If Michael Dunn, OL from Highlands is not a 1st Team selection, I have no respect for the format that this was put together. No disrespect to any of the kids that are being honored. But, I would argue that Dunn is a 1st Team All State selection. I 100% believe that if anyone who understands line play would watch Mike Dunn play, they would agree..You guys "missed it" on this one.
