I have finally taken a gander at the South Oldham schedule and must say that I am impressed, with the first 2 games. After that, not so much. CAL was a very nice effort, but it was the first game and CAL lost to NCC which I feel is down just a bit this year over where they have been in the not too distant past. The Doss victory was impressive, but it looks like they may have been trying to find themselves a bit since that was early in the season. The remainder of the schedule consists of teams that quite frankly just were not very good and the scores showed it.

 

I still say that Highlands wins this game by a score or more and I fully expect that Grady Cramer will be calling the signals on Friday. Call it a hunch based upon some things that I have heard over the last few days.

And Schoellman took majority of the snaps last night. I hope what you heard is true but if Grady isn't taking multiple snaps throughout the week it doesn't make much sense to play him Friday night at QB. Maybe Weinrich has Grady taking Snaps privately in his State of the Art Field house so no one can see he is Sand Bagging. LOL. I doubt it! Go Bluebirds!

Coach Reed will have the Dragons ready to go. Their option game, which is not seen much any more, will give the Bluebirds fits. Their complementary passing game will also add an explosive factor to their triple option. I am taking the Dragons 34-21.

 

In the state title game Owensboro against Highlands ran the option. Highlands couldn't stop it. Highlands made adjustments and Owensboro didn't score in the second half. If the coaching staff at Highlands can't figure it out, they should call Dale.

Why should the coaching staff call Dale? He had absolutely nothing to do with that team whatsoever. The adjustments made at halftime of the game you referenced were made by Coach Weinrich and I will leave it at that.

You are 100% right. My bad. BW first year as head coach.

Any way you slice this, BW has NOT improved or maintained this program at all. They've gone soft.

Not sure how you can say team has gone soft. Kids are still doing all the conditioning and work out as all teams in the past.

 

I have had two boys go thru program. I have the utmost respect to Dale and Brian. Both are committed to this program. Do they coach differently, absolutely. Both are excellent X’s and O’s coaches.

 

The biggest difference is the Jimmy’s and Joe’s. Have been involved with football in Fort Thomas for the last 15 years. If you ask me the main cause of decline in football overall is the helicopter parents. Parents now complain and over analyze everything. How many kids don’t play because they may get hurt.

 

I could not be prouder of both my boys for having the experience of playing for Dale and Brian. The life lessons about being a man, doing your job, and helping your community. No these football players are not soft!

 

For the record one son has three state championships and the other has none.

I agree to disagree here. The tackling is terrible from this team, and that's due to being soft...not having contact in practice. There is zero emotion or enthusiasm from this coaching staff, which trickles down to the team - and it's been like that.

 

You can't honestly tell me that this school had so many athletes that they won 7 in a row, and now barely get a winning record - solely due to the talent of the kids? I don't think there's a possible way to make that argument. Is this a State quality team talent wise? No, I do not think it is, but an 8-2 regular season team sure.

Transplant if you want a cheerleader to pump up the guys, go be that guy.

I absolutely love the post! I personally like BW in the classroom. Both boys come back and discuss why They are liked or not based on history and the position with France and the US. Inside joke. To many in this town forget that coaches mold young Men! Heck everybody wants to win! Sure the W/L has a lot to do with Jimmy and Joes but the end of the day for most it lasts 4 years. If they are having fun let them enjoy it! Not soft, second guess coaching fine but I appreciate the teacher behind the coach!!!
