Coach Reed will have the Dragons ready to go. Their option game, which is not seen much any more, will give the Bluebirds fits. Their complementary passing game will also add an explosive factor to their triple option. I am taking the Dragons 34-21.

I will repeat what I said after the CovCath debacle several weeks ago. I would get Grady Cramer some meaningful snaps between now and the next meeting with CovCath. The reason being is that he brings a different element to the position that CovCath will have to prepare for. It will still be a very tall task, but think Cramer gives them that little something extra.

 

And yes I did say that next CovCath game. Fully expect Highlands to win this game on Friday night.

As much as I enjoy rooting for Highlands, I also am a fan of coach Reed and his team. They are very disciplined and have enough balance on their offense to keep a team guessing. I think the Birds fans may find out quickly that SO is very good and can control a game with their run. I think it will be a great game, but the Dragons will win by 10 or more. Good luck to both teams, they are both well deserving of a win.

HHS had much less trouble with Oldham than South did. Have to see the Birds as the favorite IMO.

 

Yea but that was a rivalry game for Oldham and So. Danville Boyle game was close game but Boyle whipped Waggner and Danville played them close. I think this is going to be a good game. But I picked SO to win but not for sure on a score.

In truth, I've thought Cramer should have been the starter day one...if not a split time with Schoellman. I've watched both play for years, and Cramer is a better fit for what Highlands tries to do. Carl is a great kid, and not a bad player by any stretch (see the stats for QBs in NKY for proof), I just think Cramer is a better athlete, better arm, better size. As with many things in HS football, there is more in play here.

Not a game for comparison. Oldham vs. South Oldham is a huge rivalry game and the results usually reflect the intensity of the rivalry.

Really looking forward to the matchup. Highlands' linebackers vs. the South Oldham running game should be a premier matchup. South's defense versus the Birds' passing attack will be another.

 

I believe South's schedule was called into question last year during the playoffs....and they went all the way to the semi-finals and lost by one TD to Pulaski County....

No, I actually have zero inside knowledge on this one. What I meant was that at the start of the season, Grady should have been the starter BUT if not, at least split time with Carl.

 

Again, I preferred Cramer at QB last year on JV when these two split time and I preferred him in summer workouts and 7v7. Although, he also has made a pretty good receiver out of himself as well!

The run has been the weakness of this defense all year long, BUT, I feel like with Huddleston back in play it will help A LOT. The kid is game changer.

I have finally taken a gander at the South Oldham schedule and must say that I am impressed, with the first 2 games. After that, not so much. CAL was a very nice effort, but it was the first game and CAL lost to NCC which I feel is down just a bit this year over where they have been in the not too distant past. The Doss victory was impressive, but it looks like they may have been trying to find themselves a bit since that was early in the season. The remainder of the schedule consists of teams that quite frankly just were not very good and the scores showed it.

 

I still say that Highlands wins this game by a score or more and I fully expect that Grady Cramer will be calling the signals on Friday. Call it a hunch based upon some things that I have heard over the last few days.
