And that my friends is why the distance between teams in high school football is never as great as it might appear. One injury is the great equalizer and becomes more critical as team's depth (often related to the roster size....6A, 5A.....1A) gets thinner.

Paris seems to have more depth this year and when all are healthy, 7 or 8 offensive weapons that can produce. The defense is all teamwork as they gang tackle. IMO, Paris has what it takes, ground game & passing and defense, to beat Ludlow, Raceland or Paintsville, Hazard or Pikeville. These are all good programs and all victories would be considered by many as upsets but IMO, Paris can beat these teams, might take a perfect game but can happen. Don’t you just love high School Football!

I’m sure everyone noticed Beechwood was left off the list. Give the Tigers their due, they are awesome, I’ll address that later on.

I think there is a shot at a regional title. I just can't see Raceland and Paintsville being that much better than us. We have athletes all over the field and a quarterback that will play in 4 straight playoffs. I know those eastern Kentucky schools will be ready... just know they must ride into Paris first! Can't wait!

Paris/Ludlow next week. Hounds are healthy should put everyone on notice that night after seeing what Beechwood did last week.

I believe Beechwood is the heavy favorite like everyone else but any team can beat any other team on any given day. I believe Paintsville, Hazard, and KCD all have a shot to win it as well. KCD is super senior latent and with their high powered offense could be a force. I’d like Hazards chances a lot more with the Smith brothers but they have bounced back from their injuries very well and are a very disciplined team. Paintsville in my eyes is the best of the bunch they just beat Hazard in a hard fought close game and look like they play solid defense but will need to score more points to take it all the way.

I hope to see Paris do good and get their shot. There road would be like this 1St game against Raceland/Paintsville second game the same and third a Hazard/Pikeville/Williamsburg and the state title game a Beechwood/ KCD. Paris also gets a round one bye. That would be a brutal run for anyone.

A win there would be huge.

Paris along with their entire district is the epitome of "they'd rather aim low and hit then aim high and miss" which kills them come play off time. I think they're offense is a regular 1A offense. If you look at all their high scoring outputs, other equal teams have had around the same amount of points when played. Alot of teams could put 68 on Berea, Bracken(45) and Ludlow(54) put up points on Brossart. Multiple teams put up more points on Pineville. I just don't understand where Paris can compete with the upper echelon of 1A.

That’s almost as many lengths as Secretariat had over Sham in the Belmont.

My gauge for Paris is their game against Nicholas. I'm glad they are having a good year but they are not Raceland, Paintsville or Hazard. I said in another thread and still think it's true that Friday is the first of two between Raceland and Paintsville and that winner gets Hazard.
